oops, sorry, you posted an ran!
What's the day brought for you today then?
I'm just getting over being annoyed at the project manager grabbing all the interesting bits of work for himself and leaving me with the convoluted boring nasty stuff.

ah - still on the co-codamol then? Not fun. Sick of the telly yet?

ah, now, y'see I never got into the whole web2.0 thing (well, apart from this place that is ) - I take it facebook games are the sort of simple web page gizmos you get elsewhere?
Hiya.
minichessemouse - Ahoy there me barnacle! Posted Jul 7, 2009
Pretty much yeah. I am a farmer in one of them. Have to sow, look asfter and harvest my crops and stuff. Others are card games or dice games. Pretty normal gizmos really, but great for timewasting!

so no option to play thermonuclear war then?
So if this is how bored you are now, what you gonna be like the end of august?

I may have eaten the sofa (keep threatening Dave that I will.) I'm quite enjoying all the 40th anniversary of apollo stuff.

yes, there's been some really good programmes and articles about that. Although the best one so far is the one someone posted of a clip of Buzz Aldrin lamping a moon landing denier for saying he was dishonest and a liar and never went there!
Some of it is a bit so-so but then again I found out today a couple of astronauts are visiting various schools in the UK to big it up which can only be a good thing. I'd have been in heaven at that age meeting a real live astronaut!

Oh I haven't seen that one!
It would have been SOOOO cool to meet an astronaut when I was younger. I was well into space and stuff.

I still have a fairly clear memory of my first primary school doing some song show type thing with 'those magnificent men in their flying machines' where we'd made various planes and spaceships and one lucky kid got to dress up as an astronaut. I was relegated to the musical bit where my one task was to play a specific xylophone note (well, it wasn't actually a full xylophone but just one note on its own sounding block). Unfortunately I have no sense of rhythm so I even managed to get that wrong I made a concorde and a space rocket which were well cool though

I made a model spaceship from some plastic cups, paper and a drinking straw in Science class in second year of high school. It won third place in the class competition too!

ah, clearly a frustrated engineer!
Um, what was the drinking straw for?

minichessemouse - Ahoy there me barnacle! Posted Jul 8, 2009
I think it was holding bits of it together and also being like the big bit of metal that sticks out of the nose cone of a concord plane.
Engineering HAHA clearly you never saw the things I made in woodwork or metalwork!

were they impressive?
Still, least you still have all your fingers which is more than one ex class mate of mine can say
Although the most impressive bit was he managed to cut off the tops of 3 fingers with the band saw. You'd think you'd stop after the first one wouldn't you? Ah well, as they say, no sense no feeling!

I was HOPELESS at woodwork and metalwork. I did make a pretty frikkin awesome dragon for part of my musical theatre course. It was the throne for the evil queen in Snow White. It was mostly made of paper mache and chicken wire. And foam.

sounds cool
Musical theatre course? Was that school based or college or something? Sounds interesting but not exactly a main stream subject?
Hiya.
minichessemouse - Ahoy there me barnacle! Posted Jul 9, 2009
It was at college. I didn't exactly pass it though. It was a VERY random course. Singing, dancing, acting like an idiot. . .
