And what are you doing on Christmas day? I'll definitely be on line some time so we can chat if you're around.

So far, the only thing I know I'l be doing, is going to the park at 19:30 with my class of mainly girl 12 - 15 year olds.
For a barbie.
They're cooking.
Oh, and I'll looking at Chinese girls, all day.
I may be managering for my flatmate at a gig after that.
Will try to get online, but I don't know when.

For a barbie? I presume you mean charcoaled tofu and not a Barbie doll?!
How do you eat a vegan barbie? Do they have red peppers out there??

Hey Beanfoto! How was the barbie?
I tried to log on on Christmas morning to say 'hello' but the Internet was having none of it. 'Bog off and get on with life' it said...so I did. Had a wonderful time.
My mum's arriving for five days this afternoon. How dirty the house always gets the moment she's about to turn up. It must be witchcraft!

I'm just back from Guilin.
I saw foreigners in Yuan Shan and had to stop myself from grabbing my good friend's sleeve and whispering Lao Wai.
And it's weird to see blonde kids.

Guess " I'm turning into a Chinese,
I'm turning into a Chinese, I really think so"

I remember coming back from China in 1980 and thinking everyone looked really weird.
I also remember asking the stewardess on the BA flight for a gin and tonic...she said 'How long have you been in there?' and I said 'Six weeks.'
'Have a double,' she said...
I caught a bit of 'Mao Graham Norton' on TV last night - he was in Shanghai and the place is nothing like I remembered. Quite extraordinary. Wonder if it still has cockroaches the size of my hand..
Oh...and it's just ***'s law and my Mum. I'm just not as clean as she is. She cleaned the entire kitchen and bathroom while she was here...and I nearly resented it. No, I tell a lie, I DID resent it because I felt judged as 'a bad woman' but then I got over it when I realised that I didn't have to clean either for weeks now!

So let the place get reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally dirty and invite her back!

MaggyW Posted Jan 3, 2003
I don't think I've got the guts to invite her back when the place is filthy (not that I'm actually admitting to it's EVER being filthy!) Good idea though...
Did you miss your family over Christmas? And how was that barbeque?

Yes I did, but the 8 12 year old girls who came to the park slated my paternal feelings.
And the barbie turned out to be 5 candles.
And they made me, a Buddhist, tell them the Christmas story.
I enjoyed watching them play, and playing with them tho'.
Chinese kids get very little chance to play after they reach 6 or 7. They work them too hard, and forget that they need social skills too.
