Poor Derby. I like feeling hungery. And I wouldn't eat chicken if I were starving. I might eat a rabbit or sumthin'. Like, if I HAD to. But I don't put foul things in my mouth. Chicken. Indeed. I'd spit, but my mother would reach out from the grave to slap my face. (well, I'm not certain she'd actually smack me from the gravebut she sure clobbered me when I spat on someone as a child. I don't recall the cercumstanses as she seemingly knocked the memory right out of my brain! and rightly so. nasty habit that.)
I don't eat turkey either.
After years of eating only fruits & veggies as I was recovering from near death I craved raw meat~! Can you believe it?! Shocking~! WR sent a recipe for 'Bil-tong' - a type of jerky. I never knew jerky was from raw, red meat! That's ALL I ate or would eat for weeks~! Like I were a common carnivoir or something. shhhh don't let that get around.

Sweet girl!
I would send you some of my 'Veggie Bake'. Inclined layers of sliced onion, par-boiled potato, leeks, parsnips, and sweet potato, 'painted' with extra virgin olive oil and scattered with French 'fine herbes' - then baked!
I ususally serve this either with 'smash' - (creamed, unpeeled potato and roasted garlic) or with my home-made stuffing (torn, toasted home-made bread, eggs, olive oil, sage and minced onion and garlic).
Hmmmmmmm,,,,my mouth id watering!
Soft kisses, sweeting!

Cheer up~! Or are you crying because I DIDN'T die??
Oh dear - you must be one of the last people on h2g2 not to know.
In the Spring of 2004 I was poisioned with arsenic. My dog & best friend, a man named Chirs was killed. I was paralyzed & lay dying for nearly a month in a local hospital.
Then a at a University Hospital were I was sent was awaked by - what I can only think was my Spirit Guide - this Dr., who I'd never met & visa-versa was told to ..."Save life, there is someone important to the World she will heal." The poor man~! Being a scientist - I don't know if he'd ever had a "visit" before. Freaked him right into not only saving my life but paying for my entire hospital & re-hab~!!!!
I was tolld I'd be in a wheel chair for the rest of my life. Thankfully I only needed it for a few months. But I was in hospital for over three months. Batty
& several other hootoo friends sent (& send) me gifts & rang me up. I still read the cards h2g2 friends sent when I have a rough day.
Things could always be much, much worse dear Derby.
Your cooking makes me ~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dearest girl,
I am so sorry that I hadn't realised what a horrid, tragic time you have had. This makes me incredibly unhappy, internally (like having my intestines twisted!) I feel that the loss of your dog and your best friend must have been as traumatic as can be, to say nothing of your near death experience.
Would you like some of my English scones, to aid in your recovery - they have therapeutic powers!? Please contact me at derbylad4 on yahoo, and we make some arrangements. I hate to see a woman drool !
Many, many gentle hugs and kisses
Him

My sentiments exactly!
I knew you were sick, Pan, but wow- arsenic poisoning? You're lucky to be alive, though I know I don't have to tell you that.
I had the best vegetarian sandwich for lunch today- avocado, tomato, green leaf lettuce, sprouts, and fresh scallions, some kind of sweet and sour dressing, all rolled in one of those whole wheat wrap things. If I could afford to eat like that my whole life, I'd be a vegetarian too!

You can get endless varieties of wraps like that one in our cafe (at the hospital) for $4.00 (with a free low-fat chips, and a pickle, if you want). There is also a 'wrap special' of the day, or the chef will build one for you (different wraps, include wholewheat, regular, spinach, tomato and roasted garlic)....the salad bar is pretty awesome, too. We also have decent thin crust pizza by the slice!!
Key: Complain about this post
