Jacket potato!

ugh! smiley - yuk I feel ick... smiley - yikes now, I figured I was playing safe... Avoiding the horrific roast from teh canteen... Avoiding the veg curry.... Avoiding teh various selection of veg to accompany afore mentioned roast, which had probably reached that kind-of-repulisive state of cold-warmness just critically adjusted to maximise terror and disgust... I even avoided teh backed bean filling for the jacket potato, there is nothing as horrible as cheap, luke warm beans, well, except the amazingly cheap stone cold canteen beans.... I even avoided the mayo, which i imagine is actually the biproduct of salmonella fermentation from the biohazzard lab over the road...
Cheese.
Cheese.
I like cheese... I figured that it would be tricky, neigh- on impossible to produce a grated chedder cheese anything but edible.
I'm wrong as useuall in this respect.. smiley - yuk I wonder how long that cheese had been sitting, exposed to the air, and grated for in the canteen before muggins decided to have it as a filling for the jacket potato...
They had distroyed the potato also... I'd useually eat the skin, its the nicest bit... This one seemed wrapped in cardboard...
smiley - yuksmiley - yikes its in the bin now... smiley - zen

Reaching the end of November...

Apparently violence doesn't help, but, neither did talking and explaining myself carefully to the guy in the computer place today...
After giving him all the information several times, observing him consistantly fail to be able to spell even my name properly after the third or fourth attempt, finding out I don't exist at the university, I became increasingly of the opinion that someone like this was most probably not best placed to be able to remember a IP address for long enough to even type it into the computer he clearly didn't know how to opperate...
Well, i guess i should be thankful that three hours after arriving a guy who knew the letters of the alphebet and the numbers zero to nine appeared, and suddenly i existed again (i had a sneaking suspecion that I had existed all along, only the first guy was of such an ilk as to be unable to percieve me, or anything else for that matter, except the clock hand moving ever closer to the closing time).
So, at 4.28 i finally managed to pay them £10 for my exceding the bandwidth... Whatever that is...
And, of course, this has all achieved nothing, I'll probably have to go back again to find out why they haven't done anything to recognise my payment..
And in the meantime, I'm living in a stinking hole i loath to a huge extent, with no cooking facilities, and paying for the priviledge, and teh only reason for being here; doing and finishing my degre, can't even be attempted again, till i get the ethernet connection up and going again... Which all looks rather familular to teh two weeks or so it took them to reregister me, when i moved to a different room and hence a different IP address..
I wouldn't mind so much, but the level of inteligence and common sense demonstrated over the year, by people here, people employed by a University, if not zero, isn't far off...

two diary entrys in two days?

???
Well, its the manchester mini meet in a couple of hours or so... 7 something I think I'm leaving to go to the Lass smiley - biggrin threesecondmemory is passing by this way to the lass so were meeting up and walking up to the lass, about 7.20 or so i think... probably... if every thing goes according to smiley - erm one of those things that is suposed to be cunning... smiley - smiley A PLAN! smiley - yikes Still haven't figured out waht an essay plan is... apparently they are important... well almost finished my second degree without doing one... Guess my essays must have all been spontainious or something else beginning with "s" smiley - winkeye ahh well, supose should get ready soon.. oh, i am.. just need to switch computer off.. smiley - erm now, there is a strange saying is there not?:
"turn my computer off"
"Switch my computer off":
Guess it harks back to the "days of Dos" and windows 3X where the computer was actually physically switched off by presing a button in most cases whilst at the "DOS Prompt", quite inacurate now, since shut down supposidly shuts the computer down and turns it off, so the computer on/off switch doesn't need to be pressed... Unless its turning on of course.. which is still remarkibily simular to waht was done in the "dark age" of computing..
smiley - ermsmiley - ermsmiley - erm what the heck am i talking about? smiley - erm just took my Zoom multieffect to bits.. well took the back off... couldn't get at the 9MM jack socket things, which is what i needed to do they are loose.. poor connection on the input mainly... damm annoying.. cheap piece of kit.. less than £100 a year or so ago, and it shows, very inaccessible, these things are not ment to be fixed..
can't get at the jack socket thing from the inside of the unit, as the circuit board is above the socket, well, above in terms of having the thing upside down with the bottom unscrewed and removed. which reveals the circuit board, which appears to be glued, and beneath it at the rear, is the internal aspect of the jack socket, which i need to get to to be able to tighten it up and bend the contacts slightly if required..
Well, guess its a case of use it to the death, throw it away and begin consuming more of the same.. might go for something different this time.. getting bored of digital multieffects.. Don't sound right.. might go back to analogue or digital stomp boxes.. Rack units are a possibility, but well, from what i've had a go on, they sound very much the same as other digital effects.. Which isn't really the sound we want.. Or i want anyhow.. Might help if i knew what that sound was.. Maybe its the Amp.. maybe its this damm expensive guitar lead, with the section of cable chewed by a dog..
damm smiley - ermsmiley - erm waffling again..
Oh, the CDs finished..
Oh, ten to six now. better go get ready.. :
Switching the computer off, which doesn't involve my physical association with a switch can be so tricky.. honest.. smiley - ermsmiley - huhsmiley - weird
