2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Hell fire sounds about right, from what I recall from when I had it pop out on my face..
I had it just after one of my covid vaccine injections, but no idea if there was any connection..
Tired tonight, after no sleep last night.. made 10000 steps again, bit over 4 miles.. cooked stirfry for lunch, lamv, fennel and lentil stew for dinner.. stew should be enough for 3 nights..

Regarding steps, I just came across an article that says that just over 2,300 daily steps are enough to reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. If you reach 4,000 steps, you also reduce your risk of dying prematurely.
Researchers from the Medical University of Lodz in Poland and Johns Hopkins University have looked at a total of 17 studies with a total of 226,000 people. The study is published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology.
According to the researchers, the participants reduced their risk of dying prematurely by an additional 15% for every 1,000 extra steps beyond the 4,000 they took daily.
If you walk 10,000 steps or more daily, you should just keep going - and then you can be happy that you are still reaping health benefits on the days when the walk is a little shorter.

By the way I just walked 8,431 steps and I'm going out for another walk later, albeit it not quite as long

We should both be fine then, from the steps we do each day.. we were over 10000 again today. It was very cold by the river on our evening walk, so we stopped at the pub to warm up..

Covid and flu vaccines tommorow..

In total I managed 10,527 steps yesterday. Not sure I want to walk very much today. I am up for it but the weather is not.

I hope you will have no negative side effects of the vaccinations. I only ever have a bit of soreness where the needle went in but my younger sister and my daughter were sick for days.

I scheduled an appointment a few weeks ago to get my flu vaccination and my covid vaccine right after the new bi-valent vaccine arrived. When I got to my appointment (directly following my biannual endocrinology visit) I was informed that they didn't have the covid vaccine. So I skipped it. Yesterday I rescheduled the covid vaccine for Friday online, but when I tried to schedule the flu vaccination I found that the location I chose for the covid shot didn't have any times available (so possibly no supply) for the flu shot.

It's the covid shot I'm more interested in, so I won't skip it. But hopefully what I saw on the scheduling app was just an error and I'll ask about the flu shot when I get there.

Well, got both flu and covid shots fine, both in the same arm.. no effects yet, but I expect it oughta feel sore by the morning..
Felt tired so had a break from walking, just 3000 steps, to the pharmacy and back.. cardiac rehab in the morning, an initial phone assessment to start..

One of my external harddrives is beyond repair so thousands of pictures and documents are lost

On the upside I don't have to sort them which I had planned to do smiley - zen

But it feels a little bit like coming home to a house that is burnt to the ground with everything in it smiley - erm

Dang, that's unfortunate. Hope it's not too bad and will pass quickly.

I can probably find some of my stuff elsewhere, but I'm certain most is gone for good.

I think the vaccine sideeffects are passing a bit already.. but seperating muscle ache from the shots, from that from surgery isnt an exact science smiley - snork plus cold and shivery is about right for the weather now smiley - brr made it to 6000 steps, and cooked mushroom risotto for dinner, so I cant be too bad smiley - zen

I've been on the waggon for 54 days and will be for the next 36 also so I got slightly depressed yesterday when it slowly dawned upon me that there would be a whole extra hour without alcohol during the night! smiley - wah

Not really a problem, though. I got through those 60 minutes also smiley - biggrin

Drumsticks are good. Turkey meat doesn't have much taste in itself, but is very cheap and lean and smiley - tomatosmiley - tomato and paprika or curry powder always helps smiley - drool

I rarely see turkey being sold in the UK, asides from at Christmas smiley - weird I cooked another red lentil soup tonight, this time with chicken and carrot.. looks like enough 3 or 4 nights.. which will give my chest a rest, it can get quite sore from cooking.
Just a short walk to the shos in the morning, but a longer one in the evening. Just over 3 miles total..

As of this morning I have lost 12 kilos, which is 1stone 12.45547 pounds according to my internet and I'm hoping my liver also benefits from this 90 day diet.

I shall continue this diet until 4 December. After that I will try not to return to my unhealthy habits. I will however not live like a monk either smiley - biggrin

I never really tried red lentils. Your recipe sounds interesting. Care to share it here?

Either you had a typo or your internet lied to you. 12 kilograms = 26.4555 lbs.

We found red lentils by accident.. picked up by mistake whilst aiming for red split lentils..
We prefer the taste and texture of them, though fewer shops sell whole red lentils, compaired to the split version..

The recipe..
Made a huge amount, about 6 or 8 portions..
400 G red lentil
900 G chicken breast, diced
500 - 600 G carrot, sliced
2 - 3 large onion diced
Lots of garlic, minced
3 TSP fennel seed, ground
750 ML stock, plus more water as needed

1. Fry onions, about 5 mins
2. Brown chicken in with the onion
3. Fry the carrots a couple mins
4. Add garlic and ground fennel, cook a minute or so.
5. Add lentils and stock, cover, simmer on low 25 - 30 minutes, check during cooking and add extra water if it needs..
