2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Started conversation Jan 23, 2015
Went to GPs this morning, with William
Had to wait a while as they were running late... which gave us the oppertunity to talk to a totally bonkers woman... for a while... which was kinda fun... we talked about making bread... and burning puffer jackets in fires... seriously... Saw the GP.....
Hodgkins lymphoma... apparently...
Not spreading, apparently, which is nice Probably fairly early stage, which is also nice...
Expecting a phonecall from a nurse at some point, to talk about chemo, which I hope will start in the next couple of weeks
Went into town, to the cafe and then bought a bottle of coconut shampoo! and a few other supplys
Damnit... My hair! bugger.

Sorry to hear that
Hope your teatment starts soon and is effective
Also hoping your hair may be your worst problem in this context, but actually you may not necessarily have to lose it. Depends on what kind of chemo and how much etc. Do not trouble halfway but carp as many diems as you possibly can

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Jan 23, 2015
Speaking as a slaphead I contend that hair is overrated, and barbers are evil All joking aside though, I hope it all goes well and the treatment isn't too unpleasant. And be very, very thankful Britain had the good sense to bring in National Insurance and universal healthcare.

exactly..... just luck that the current gov hasn't totally privitised it all ... quite yet Actually.... I have always wondered what it'd be like... err, not to have lots of hair (bearing in mind, mines been pony tail length, or all the way down my back length, since I was about 15 or 16 )
Plus.... all my seriously impressive s scars, from where the right side of my skul was removed from the rest of my skull, by a lorry, are hidden by my hair.... Plus..... I could always use it, as an excuss to buy more expensive.... and silly hats... or very affemanate scarfs to cover my head with (esp if its this damn cold ) now..... how much can I play on 'being ill', to get..... shiney things and treats and ... stuff

2-Legs
My wife went through non-Hodgkin's about 13 years ago. She lived through several months without hair, but she is sitting here next to me, intact now. She still cooks and does the laundry, although not as often as I might want
people from all around the world are pulling for you

2legs. >Hope things work out ok. Might I suggest, in an upbeat fashion, donating your hair for those with cancer, etc who are receiving treatment. There are a number of options that I can find for you. And they may then be able to reciprocate, if you need their services.
Just a thought.
But ultimately my thoughts are that the tests prove negative and we can have a healthy 2legs in the fold again.

Florida Sailor - Thanks; and she survived the non-hodgkins (less favorable outlook than the 'flavour' of plain old 'hodgkins I have, (actually I've gone got the really rare one... typical!; nothing normal about me...)
MMF; well, results are positive... for the hodgkins, from biopsy; ATM hoping subsequent tests (CT scan etc), don't reveal hidden berties (name for my lump under my armpit before I knew what it was), arn't found lurking elsewhere (OK; I know there are a few enlarged lympth glands, on my shoulder, same side as bertie (being on same side is good, apprently), but, they're only slightly* enlarged (less than 10 MM)
Didn't sleep last night.
packing my bag, off to William's, bleh, hate being needy. brain all fuzzy ATM. esp after not sleeping
and oi! stop being nice to me..... Its not normal

Yeah... after reading this I did a brief search and was pleasantly surprised by the high recovery rate for Hodgkins Lymphoma cases. Obviously it still sucks, but it could be raining, as they say.
