I read the HGtG for the first time about 7 years ago. Since then, one of my minor missions in life has been to get as many people as I can to read the Guide and thereby share the fun. I'm tickled pink that this site exists - may its organizers always know where their towels are!
I know a little bit about a lot of things: Beer, bagpipes, hiking/camping/backpacking, Alaska, obscure British sci-fi (Dr. Who!! Yeah!!!), ballroom dancing, how to make a proper cup of coffee, where the lowest-priced gasoline is to be found locally, etc. Other than that, I'm mostly useless.
