Goofing Off

Well, I have spent a great deal of time today goofing off from w*rk, while putting great effort into figuring out how to use Guide ML to jazz up my personal space. It is still a work in progress, but it is much more fun, at least for me, now. smiley - biggrin

Word of advice to those who might choose to do the same... only make one change at a time, it makes it much easier to identify what has caused the %*#$%@##~&#$ smiley - grr error messages that seem to pop up so horribly frequently. The Guide ML guide isn't nearly as easy to use as some of the friendly entries posted by other researchers.

I would like to thank the many H2G2 geniuses who have provided me significant assistance (in no particular order)... smiley - rainbow

Rotary International

I am a member of Rotary International (RI). Many people don't know who we are or what we do or care about. RI is an international philanthropic service organization. For years our focus has been on the eradicaiton of polio worldwide. Through various RI activities, we have sponsored and administered ~ 1.2 billion polio immunizations since 1986. Every year we focus on one or two global issues to focus our energies on. This year one of the main goals is water, including access to, cleanliness of, and preservation of. If anyone out there is a member of a Rotary Club that is planning on a water project in the next year, please let me know. I"m interested in others' service ideas and projects.

I know, this whole unselfish, philanthropic thing is sort of out of character for me, but I can't be anti-social all the time.

Text Message

I hate the term boyfriend. It sounds so juvenile and High School'ish. I've been dating a great guy for a while now, but am still struggling with the whole public title thing. It just doesn't feel right to call Pat my boyfriend, not because he doesn't hold a serious place in my heart, but because he's man, and not some punk kid. I'm thinking "novio" sounds better? Well, that's neither here nor there...

Pat and I have pretty bad schedules during the week, so we don't get to see each other except on weekends. Neither of us are good at just talking on the phone, so we send each other text messages during the day when we aren't busy. Its a pretty consistant method of communication... he texts me when he's on break or lunch, and then I respond on my breaks or lunch.

Recently, he changed his work schedule, so his am break occur right about the time I've gotten to work, his lunch break @ my morning break, and his afternoon break on my lunch. My sis works for the same company I do, so we often take breaks together. It almost never fails that his text messages come just about the time my sis and I are together on break. She's been giving us a pretty good poking because of the timing. Today we went to lunch at a different time than normal, and of course, Pat has a change in his schedule and texts me right as we are sitting down for lunch. Most of the time, the messages are pretty innocuous, but this time it was rather provocative, and apparently I blushed. My sis is still giving me crud.

I think she's jealous! smiley - biggrin

You've Got to Give 110%!!!!!!

What Makes 100%? What does it mean to give MORE than 100%? Ever wonder about those people who say they are giving more than 100%? We have all been to those meetings where someone wants you to give over 100%. Howabout achieving 103%? What makes up 100% in life?

Here's a little mathematical formula that might help you answer these questions:

If the alphabet is reprsented by numbers...
