Spelling is important though, if you didn't know the correct spelling in the first place you wouldn't have a clue how to read the word or what it meant.
It's hard enough trying to stop youself from saying something wrongly once you've heard someone else saying it
like aminal
ephalump
amblemance (ble as in bled not as in bell)
the list goes on....
