I've often wondered why it is that certain activities seem to attract such opprobrium. No matter where you go, people who don't like cricket seem to be very intolerant of people who do. Dragonfly's been banging on for ages about her Av's, but I don't recall anyone saying that ice hockey is a drag... or maybe I missed that one in the backlog. Personally I've got less than no interest in ice hockey, basketball, or football, and only a passing interest in American football, but if people want to talk about it, go ahead. I can amuse myself for the duration. I love cricket though, and baseball, although I know a lot less about it. I know that Acidbath likes the game, so we talk about it here, and we talk about it in my fan club. So do Cthulhu, Parrferris and I think Greydesk too.

Have you ever been to an NHL game Gosho? I've never followed hockey personally ... always thought it was a little too violent ... but I got some free tickets at w**k ... very exciting to be there! I haven't watched a game since, but there ya go ...

I like Ice Hockey. I used to live in Sheffield which is home to the best UK ice hockey so would go to games from time to time. I haven't a clue whats going on but it looks like fun. Isn't the quote - "I went and watched a fight the other day and a hockey game broke out"

I'm sorry I'm such a spoil sport, Gosh, but I've protested against D's Av as well. It just boares me to tears.

I love cricket (though I get to see very little of it at present), and I'm getting much more into football than I used to be as a youngster. Well, I say 'football', but we *are* talking Torquay United here...

i've missed my ab!
and i missed all the sporting talk, so i didn't get to add my two cents (or local equivelent of small change )

i *love* hockey. just about the finest sport there is major or minor league, there is nothing like freezing your bum off watching ice hockey live. the fights are the best! ( i miss tony twist!) can't make myself sit in front of a tv and watch a game tho. i either have to be there, or hear the score when they're done.

baseball is good, another 'have to be there' thing, but i'm not much for television any way. i do keep up with the scores sometimes, not as well as i do with hockey... and i've still never seen mark mcgwire hit a homer outside of a hilight reel

american football--fell asleep at a game, what can i say? i love my rams tho, will root for them anytime just so long as i don't have to watch them.

i would like to see cricket some day, just to see what the fuss is all about. even if i have to watch it on a telly.

played rounders once. kept trying to run the bases backwards other than that don't remember a whole lot about it

Yes, Shea, broe and I are the quality item! Actually, most of the forums seem a little quieter over the last few days. I think Shea must have been forced to do some w**k!

I rarely get to see any live sport - we only have three League football teams in Devon, all struggling at the foot of the table almost permanently (Plymouth Argyle, Exeter City and Torquay United). Rugby is huge in Cornwall, but not so much here. Cricket is popular, but we're only a 'Minor County', so ther isn't much opportunity to see the proper first-class game. Taunton (Somerset) is the nearest first-class ground, but it's not easy to reach for a non-driver.
One sport I do occasionally watch is rowing, which is very popular down here.

Well, since my protest didn't really catch on, I'll just skip the parts of the b/l, everyone, and everyone too, and go on my way...
