There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Jun 7, 2001
Well, I'll come clean on the backlog thing - most of it I skip. I just don't get enough h2g2 time to get through it all. First thing I do when I log on is to go to my 'more conversations' page, then start by clicking on the 'Posted...' link which takes me straight to my last posting in that conversation. If that posting is more than one dot back from the current page, I'll just read as far as I figure that I'm going to find any replies to my post, then cut straight to the top of the current page and join in from there. Then I just work my way through all the conversations which have been updated since the last time I was on, and only when I've done that do I refresh the page and start dealing with any replies I've got since I logged on, and get involved with the current conversations, if I've got time.

And I read every, single word you write, Gosho ... savoring every last bit of wit and wisdom I can glean from it ...

Shea, you're the best
I wish I had enough time to read all the gems you write
.... umm, you weren't being sarcastic were you?

i'm glad i'm not the only one with a strategy, gosho
i do the same thing with the more posting page, and start with the most recently replied-to thread. some threads i read all the backlog, some of them i know its not important. others i skim thru to get a general idea of what is going on. but then i don't refresh the page until i've checked everything new since my last visit. and while i'm doing all this i'm jumping up from my desk every few minutes to do some work, so even tho i'm logged on all day, i get frequent interruptions.

hi broe
hi Gosho
You must have missed the post I made (in one of your grand skims) Gosho, where I explained that if I don't put a smiley in, I'm being serious. If I put in a then you know I'm being sarcastic!

Ah, I see I'll keep that in mind from now on
Shea thinks that I'm some kind of seer or font of wisdom... I don't know if I can cope with the pressure of those expectations
