Cheers Veg,
It must have been terrible knowing the details of when h2g2 was due back, but not being able to put us out of our misery!
See you around...

*pangs of guilt*
But we did a good job - the site's back again.
Clive. (also testing)
P.S Just thought I'd pop along and say hi to a (semi) newbie from Yahoo as well.
Hi!

Hi there! Welcome to the Goo!
And I want to thank you for the wonderful visual I got from that description of yourself!
Just one question: Where on earth do you get your trousers?!

Hi there Shea...
Nice to see another n2g2 refugee back in the real thing
My trousers are specially created from specially re-inforced canvas by a crack team of sailmakers. The failure of Team Philips did have some happy spin-offs in South Devon.

I'm sure that statement was remarkably clever, but completely over my head! I suppose it was a little too South Devon-centric for my addled NY brain.
Have a great weekend!

Sorry Shea, that may have been a bit parochial, though most Brits would get it, I think.
'Team Philips' was a huge multi-million racing yacht, built just a couple of miles from me, whose revolutionary design was meant to enable it to win 'The Race' (a round-the-world no-rules contest). Unfortunately, on it's first test run it started breaking up and the bow fell off, and on its second one of the masts broke. On the third it was abandoned in mid-atlantic, and was never heard of again.
Pete Goss, the man behind the project, doesn't reckon it could have sunk, so keep an eye out from New York..!

Hi, AB
The Eden Project's about 40 minutes drive away... or about 6 hours in the tourist season. My brother lives near there, so I may visit it soon.
BTW, be careful about muddling Devon and Cornwall, you'd get much the same reaction by muddling Iraq and Israel!

Well, I live right near the coast, I'll keep an eye out for it!
Are finders keepers part of maritime rules?

HiYa
I see you have settled in and may I congratulate you on your page. You must have studied the old guideML pages well to get your Space looking so good.
Well done and if you need anything, which I doubt, you seem to be able to find the things you want, give me a shout.

I just want to add my congratulations at your early grasp of GuideML, your page looks really (Thanks again for the links to the Manifesto) I personally am looking forward to many *many* guide entries using that same flare you've demonstrated in re-desigining your personal space.

Cheers Veg,
I haven't forgotten you, and no doubt I will come screaming for your assistance when I really muck something up! I've got a hold on the basics of GuideML - like most things, it just takes 'having a go'.
See you around!

I expect to start on guide entries just as soon as I can think of something that I know about .
I'm sure that the page will evolve as I find my way around...
