Some Stupid B*****d Has Driven Into My Car
Posted Apr 27, 2001
Some B******d has driven into the side of my car today whilst it was parked out side my house. Then driven off without leaving a note
They're stupid for not clearing up the evidence behind them. There are some lovely greeny-blue paint streaks left on the side of my little white Peugeot. And not 50 yeards down the road there is a greeny-blue Toyota MR2 owned by a neighbour with some fresh streaks of white paint on their bumper
The daylight is fading fast, so I won't do anything now. But tomorrow...
7:00am - out there with a ruler and magnifying glass.
7:10am - *rings 999* "hello Mr Policeman..."

Never, Ever Lose Your Cookies....
Posted Apr 23, 2001
I recommend all pre-Rupert researchers who have not registered with the BBC to do so NOW. It will make your life much easier if you decide to clean up your computer's cookies.
On Saturday (21st) I cleared out my cookie store and found I couldn't access h2g2 with my original h2g2 username and password. I had to go via the BBC which was impossible, as I couldn't remember any login details
I created other identies to wave "help" to any passing ACEs and italics (see U172108 and U172126 if you want to at how I've been)
Fortunately the wonderful Abi back at the Towers came to my rescue and I'm back to my old self So thank you very much to Abi and to all the researchers who have offered support and advice in my hour of need
There is plenty of celebratory and (plus for any abstainers) here for all to enjoy

What's The Score Neil Warnock? What's The Score?
Posted Apr 14, 2001
I'm feeling generally f***ed [self "moderated"] off at the moment. Just got back from watching the so-called mighty Blades get hammered 4-1 by some Kentish non-entities.
My only comfort is that when the Gillingham fans wake up tomorrow morning, with sore heads and memories of a beery celebration the night before, they will still find themselves living in the ugliest town I have been to in my life.

Just got back Home...
Posted Mar 16, 2001
I am really not sure about this "moderation" lark.
I don't feel I have a clear picture as to how it will work in practise. There have been lots of soothing words from TPTB about how little will change, yet there was a really hissy fit kicking off on the "h2g2chat" site at Yahboo about censorship of a guide entry in these early days back.
The moderator's point was that the entry was available to anyone and could offend. The Community was saying "look at the context". There has to be a balance somewhere and I hope that it is found soon. No one will post if we have to write as if we were writing for Blue Peter.
In that vein, I will hold off for the time being with my discussion about Philip Larkin's poem, "This Be The Verse".
