Cat on the roof!

I am being stared at by a cat, and it is most disconcerting.

I am sitting in the back bedroom where the computer and the near legendary desk are kept. To my left is the window out of which I can look out over the rooftops of Brighton.

Now the design of the house is such that the kitchen and bathroom constitute an off-shot at the back of the house, but because of the steepness of the hill they are dropped down by about 6 feet relative to the body of the house. This means that the guttering running along the bathroom roof is almost exactly at my eye-level as I sit at the aforementioned desk.

In this guttering there is a large black and white cat sitting down, looking quite comfortable with it's surroundings and staring in at me. I have no idea how it got up there, but it better have its route back planned out because there is no way that I'm letting it in through the window!

-----------

Talking of cats and rooves. Has anyone else seen that rather sick advert for the Ford Street Ka that's been going around the internet recently? I got a copy dropped in my in-box by a friend a couple of days ago. It's very bizarre. Copies are available on request, the mpeg is about 1Mb long if you want it.

Wobbly Wheels

It's just after 1pm on Saturday 20th March, and I'm supposed to be in the vicinity of Leicester Forest East services and heading North towards Bramall Lane. Now as you can see that hasn't happened smiley - sadface

I've got a problem with the car. There is something seriously wrong with the steering. I was about 4 miles out of Brighton on a wet road doing about 70mph and I realised that I couldn't feel the steering at all. I was continually having to make corrections, and was to all intents and purposes on the very limits of control. That is very wrong smiley - yikes

I stopped the car. I limped it back home. I've got it booked into garage for repairs next week...

10 pieces of cheese

Management have finally had enough of my absenses from work due to migraines, and have referred my case on to the Occupational Health Department.

To be fair they have a point. I have missed quite large chunks of time over the last three years, and frankly if I were my manager I would have probably sacked me by now.

Anyway, the upshot of my meeting with Occy Health is that I must cut certain things out of my diet to see if they are the triggers for my condition. Cutting out the chocolate was easy - I never eat the stuff, so that ain't a trigger.

So we move on to the next step, and that's red wine. I can live without red wine, although it is a bit annoying as I came back from my little jaunt to the continent with a whole load of it, and now I'm banned from drinking it for a month.

My real fear is that this won't have an effect on my migraines, and that I'll be told to drop the next food group - cheese. Now I've said that I can live without red wine, and that's true, but I can't live without cheese. It's a food that I eat every day, it's a food that I take great delight in eating, and a food that I will cheerfully pay the top prices for the best quality.

I went and had a look at what I've got in terms of cheese supplies, and I find that I have 10 different cheeses in my refridgerator at this moment in time.

Strong Cheddar - really sharp well matured organic stuff from the Cotswold hills.

Vintage Gouda - a texture like fudge and a strong salty taste.

Medium Cheddar - just a regular bite for slicing and having on toast.

Brie - bought as a youngster and now matured nicely.

Stilton - the best piece I could find, you should always have some of this hanging around.

Parmesan - well, obviously.

Mature Gouda - it's been hanging around for a while, so is probably well on its way to becoming 'vintage'.

Mozzarella - bought from the deli today. So fresh it smells of grass, and likely to be eaten tonight!

Havarti - an experiment, and a successful one so far.

Cashel - you need two blue cheeses at all times really.

So that's the list. That's what I face having to give up. How depressing smiley - sadface

My glasses just broke!

A screw has fallen out of glass's frames, hence causing the right lens to drop out of the whole assembly. I can't find the screw anywhere to fix them, and without my glasses I am to all intents and purposes blind.

Therefore I have had to resort to drastic measures...
