I might have broken a toe

I stubbed my toe quite hard this morning. I didn't think anything too much about it at the time, apart from taking a moment to hop around the room swearing loudly.

Well in the last couple of hours I've turned the heating on - it's getting a bit chilly down here. As a result my extremities have warmed up and I can now feel them again; and as a result I'm getting a strong pain signal from the second toe on my left foot smiley - injuredsmiley - sadface

I'm not as well endowed as I thought I was...

Last year my endowment company said that there might be a bit of a shortfall on my endowment scheme when it matures in the spring of 2017.

I was a little concerned about that.

However I wasn't overly worried because whilst the endowment was targeted way back when at an original figure of £38,500. The actual amount of interest-only mortgage that it is currently ear-marked to pay off is much less at £33,000. So in my mind I had a bit of wiggle room.

Now I find that the company has had a bad year and its prudent forecast for the final payout is now only £26,400 smiley - yikes

What the f**k happened!? smiley - cross

I can see a mis-selling complaint in the offing smiley - steam

Newspaper DVD Freebies

Twice this has happened to me.

Twice I've gone out and paid cash money for a director's cut DVD only to find that it gets given away free in a newspaper some months later.

It first happened with the Observer and 'Cinema Paradiso' about a year ago. Tomorrow it's going to happen again with 'Donnie Darko' with the Sunday Times.

Yes, I suppose you could argue that by buying the original DVD release I've got the box and artwork, and any additional features that might be included. But that's not much of a return for twenty quid a pop for the original DVDs.

Pissed off I am smiley - cross

It's been a year now

It's a year to the day since this happened - F63554?thread=593613

So what's it been like these last 12 months?

Absolutely fantastic, is the answer smiley - biggrin

I can't remember a time in my life, certainly not in recent years, when I've felt happier. Yes OK, so my take home pay for the year is probably only half what it was in the year before, plus I'm pretty sure I've got some confusing tax issues to sort out at some point. But I don't care about any of that, because every other aspect of my life is better than it was a year ago smiley - magic
