You're not familiar with your CS Lewis.
Santa doesn't come out the closet, though he does pop into the Beaver's den.
It's Susan who comes out of the closet, but eventually goes into denial.

Well in that instance Susan drags the bogeyman out from behind the closet and beats the cr@p out of him

A bit bizaar maybe - I was in Italy when I first read that - the locals couldn't understand - mainly 'cos they have a tooth "mouse"

Oh please don't talk about meeces. They've been keeping me up all night with their singing and dancing. (upstairs neighbours can be so annoying.) (Hope they enjoyed the party nibbles Lurch put out for them)
I've just finished "Darwin's Watch" (The Science of Discworld III). Rather good. Anyone read I and II?

Hope Lurch provided "tastey snacks" for your fiends
friends!
I've read Science I and am halfway through II - whats III like?

Aye. Tasty .
Seems to have given them more energy though - now they're dancing during the day as well. They've been rushing about directly above my head for the last 2 hours.
III's good - mostly. I found a couple of the early chapters a bit boring because I already knew it all - but I just skimmed them and it got rapidly better after that. Are I and II good?

I & II are very similar - boring in places for that same reason - but generally good
Can't you are Lurch with a shotgun for your visitors??

Someone wrote about a tooth fairy on commision - can't think who, but his ways of boosting trade were funny. (actually it might have been me.)
I and II are OK ~ the mix doesn't work for me all the time, I either read for entertainment or education, and the switch between the two I think is brilliant, but keeps flippin' switches in my brain.
Sure you ain't got squirrels Tef ?

well I has arrived and the library rang to say there's another book waiting, so II may well come today. Wonder whether I'll have time to read them next week. (Maybe not - I persuaded Lurch to rip out the kitchen and put in a new one last Christmas and I've got my eye on the bathroom this year )
No, we definitely don't have squirrels. The only trees within miles are our 3 giant sycamores.

But it's the only week in the year when I have him at home and at my mercy
Actually i'm not as mean as it may appear - he likes to keep busy and he enjoys working with wood.

very similar actually - a "Rotating" Christmas - the squadron elects one person to do the starters - so we all start there - the WALK to the one elected for the Main course etc etc.
Might be good eh!
