apparently... in another thread I was told they drink an
at each score.. I suggested if they really wanted to get
in a hurry they should do that to basketball.

They'd not see 15 minutes gone, would they? Now if ya want a slooooow night of it, find a pair of well matched NHL teams ... End scores often being 1 - 0, ...
Are you a follower of any sport? I used to track the NHL, when there were yet 6 teams !!!

Some basketball games they'd have to chug one after another. Far more efficient than doing so to football or hockey.
I'm not really into sports. Thankfully neither is PC, unless it's the occasional quick check if his alma mater is playing. I did follow the TDF when Lance Armstrong was riding but it was more of a cancer-survivor solidarity thing.

I can understand that.
Neither of us have followed any sport, really, in our adult years. Come around the Winter Olympics, we do enjoy the skate-dancer types, ... singles of either gender, but especially the couples. Even with my poor eye, I can appreciate grace, emotion and motion combined.
*just don't tell any of the manly men, eh? *

I won't say a word.
As you know PC is into some of the *cough* reality shows.. we were watching one called "so you think you can dance".. I must admit there was some amazing talent there, though I think he liked the terrible ones and the injuries more..
two people landed on their faces!

Actually, one thing we both enjoy is the occassional episode of American or Canadian Idol, ... When all they have is the really horrid or pathetic attempts. Those we get quite a chuckle from.

I just cringe at how embarrassing it is - though apparently the people who are doing it don't think so.

And how irate, offended they get when they are plainly told that they should keep their day jobs. Most, you have to wonder if they are seriously hearing impaired, to think they sound even tolerable. I know my own singing voice is fairly tolerable, but has never been of a degree that I'd be comfortable outside of a choir ...

I have the decency to realize what it means when I sing and leaves the room.
We are having a wonderful "Carolina Soaker" today.. it is a very gentle rain (almost a mist) with no high winds, thunder or lightening. They usually last for the whole day (or two), or at least several hours and do the plants no end of good. When I walked outside the ground was already spongy so it must have been going on all night already.

Wonderful. That's the kind of rain we had last week, immediately following that bout of heat and humidity. Our flowers perked up quite nicely.
I even found a nice surprise this morning when I watered all of ours. I had tried some Californian Poppy seeds (sent from the UK ) Blamed squirrels kept stirring them up until I pierced and dropped a few garlic oil gel-caps in the pots. This morning, I see one very pale yellow head, about to open.

It's not open yet, so I didn't give it a close nosey. Mind you, my little dance of joy, at 5:30 am, ... It did send some squirrels scurrying. I'm sure they thought me mad.
Mind you, they're probably not far wrong !!!

Fortunately our vicious attack chicken doesn't like squizzles so they all moved out.. I wish she'd do the same to the
that is eating the plants..

This is the first year since '99 that we've again had a visit our lawns. But just like the pair of racoonsof a couple of weeks ago, he moved on through without snacking. Either our greenery isn't to their taste, or that faintest whiff of the little Pepe le Peu's dissuades them.

Oh, ... there's another little treat this year. When we bought the house in '99, there was a badly frost-burned dwarf rose bush at one corner of the structure. It did nothing for 2 years, do I dug it out.
Or thought I did. Last year, up came about 6 long and thorny tendrils. This past couple of weeks, it's LOADED with 2 - 3" deep red roses. A lovely scent there-abouts.

I've since learned that if there's even a bark shaving left in the soil, they'll give it a good go. Now, I have to rig a bit of trellis-work to support these very thin tendrils.

inverted cages work wonders for that.. if you have critters that like to snack on roses just use that frame and cover it with chicken wire...
I always wondered why they call it chicken wire.. it doesn't stop the ninja chicken from much but works wonders on s..

Because the stuff was used for many a year to fence-in the more timid and tame variety of chickens. With a disclaimer right on the roll though, ... not meant for rabid, wandering, fighting-ninja birds.
Gotta read the find print, good Lady.
