just pay a fee... it's usually an annual membership and you get stuff throughout the growing season.. depending on the area and on the farm it is usually picked up at a central location or delivered to your home..

A very idea. I'm not aware of anything like that around here. But then, those who really want fresh, grow their own. I gave it brief thought, but the squirrels and skunks would likely make short work of anything as it sprouted.

google community supported agriculture and see if there is anything in your area... it's a great way to support local farmers and get yummy produce for it..

It seems there IS a Canadian version of it, with the nearest about an hour's drive away. I've forwarded the link 'home', should I find some free net-wander time over the week-end.

there are a lot of farms that do CSA but you can't really find them online or something... ask at a nearby farmers market to see if any of the farms there do CSA

There was a map presented, seeming to indicate it's only in eastern Ontario and a part of Quebec. With specific towns named. So I'd gather those are the ones commonly a part of the "system".

depends... the farm I'm looking at isn't listed on any of the CSA sites but they go to one of the local farmers markets..
Here one of the markets only allows organic produce, farms within 50 miles radius, and produce picked no more than 24 hours before market.. it's small but heavens is it worth it!

I'd like to blame it on this undersized notebook keyboard. But I've been using it pretty consistently for a couple months worth of evenings. So I'll blame it on, ... ummm, ... errrr, .... sunspots !!! That's it, an phenomenonal burst of solar plasma temporarily confused the keyboard scan chip.
*wonders if she bought that one ...*

How nice. I'm sure it has all the amenities a proper Lady could require, plus an absolutely fully stocked s kitchen.
Just watching a new show on A&E, about the Titanic
