Okay, it's far too cliche. But it'll stand out in my own PS.
I know that I've seen you all over the place these coupla years. And we share a number of friends and aquaintances. So I thought I'd drop in for a moment. My PS gives a quick resume of me.
There are occassional times that another friend on "the inside" may prove helpful, ya know. I see an occassional newbie floundering, or a stink about to erupt. And the few ACE's I know reasonably well are the other side of the pond and foolishly sleeping. So if you don't mind ...
Besides which, I'm always open to a chance for a new friend as well.

No worries, ... h2g2 hasn't been the most stable of late anyway.
My normal'ish times of calling in are only before and then after work, Ontario hours, anyway.
What "time-zone" do you operate in?

Some evenings, I get time to peek in whilst building a supper. (I'm home from work an hour earlier than milady, so most week-days ... I's the )
I work on a Canuck Air Force base, and their servers are bogged slow, so h2g2 is often beyond practical reach. A shame, really, 'cause that's when the good Forum and Ask stuff is active.

I'll have to plead ignorance and not know who "PC" is that you speak of ...
I've recently built a new office in the basement, and wired it for the broadband. As well as a port to the living room for this older and used notebook. We do have a current machine that could go wireless, but some is too close with their somewhat d devices to allow such stuff. It's been tried.
(Look in your dictionary for techy-puter- and see my photo ...)

PC is my significant other..
We have the whole house set up for wireless and have laptops so we can work anywhere on the property. I'm just a minor .. PC, on the other hand is an ubernerd at M$.

Ah, I see. My better half (in so very many ways) is commonly known as milady. The same one who suggested that our 20th wedding anniversary (September '07) ought to be spent meeting some folks in England, Wales and Ireland. Nice Lady, eh?
Having glanced your PS, ... If my memory serves, I know a few folks in Charlotte area. Employed by an agency called SPAWAR, ... contract intermediaries between the US military and the environmentalist folks down on the southernmost ice-cap. I, and a number of others, provide navigational aids for them.

Oh that is nice! I'm hoping to drag PC on an adventure.. I'm a bit of a travel junkie..
I have only lived here about 4 years but it is quite nice.

I spent 4 months on a USAF course in Florida once, but other than that, I've not left Canada. Milady never has. So it will be quite a "once in a lifetime" thingie.

It may well be, ... It's just never been an option for me. Little things like sub-poverty wages as a military guy, then married, a child, a divorce, another marriage, ... STILL rotten wages, ... Life develops certain patterns and expectations, ya know?

Oh, and the Florida bit, ... May 24th weekend through to the week-end after Labour Day was my time. Certainly NOT by choice !!! 95 degrees, 95 percent humidity. Every day !!!
I appreciated the northern Ontario winter after that one.

Very true. I've been quite lucky in my life. I've had the opportunity to do many things I never expected. Though I must confess while I'll pinch pennies on the car I drive and all that I think nothing about plunking down a goodly sum to travel..

Oh I ain't complaining, ... I've always found enough to meet the needs, and ensure the special people have been treated quite nicely.
Mind you, 3 grandkids now ... Christmas and Easter become a stretch.

Oh I bet! But family is the real treasure. It always has been. You're very lucky there.

It's a personal shame, but I wasn't there full-time with my "little girl"as she grew. But I really am appreciating and enjoying all the quirks and growths of the next generation.
Especially when they do something that really drives my girl nuts. And all I have to say is "I remember a time when ..."

My grandfather was a wry and witty man. One of his many cusses at me was to the effect that the best punishment for ANY child is to become the parent.
I'm enjoying it.
How's about you? A relatively youngish family yet? Ya see, I'm still only 29 (with 18 years of experience at it)
