No family sadly. I'm not married. As I get older I do think about having a child though.

Well, the last couple of decades, marriage isn't so much the requirement. Nor even opposite working biological parts. I don't know what your area might be like, but in many parts of this continent, there are young 'uns wanting and needing a home. So ideas are never "too late".

Yes but I wouldn't bring a child into a home that I didn't feel was the right one. Meaning unless I'm in a solid and permanent loving relationship.

True, a safe and stable place IS a must. I don't know your 'count' but I get the impression that you've a number of good years ahead of you yet, though.
We were unable to have any of our own, for a number of unpleasant and convoluted reasons. So we have had our names in for adoption, ... in three geographic regions. Each time, despite our own calling, we only received "first contact" within months of the military plans to move us again. So it never happened. Now, we're too old.

I am still young enough to have children.. barely.. but my situation isn't one into which I'd bring a child.

Like so many other things, ... only YOU can decide what is right for you. And anyone else that may be affected.
I'm only here briefly, at my work-bench, for a bit of lunch. And then back to a very dull and boring classroom. Have you any discrete methods to suggest, for keeping me awake? Or atleast NOT snoring when I sleep with my eyes open?

Batty_ACE Posted May 3, 2006
hmmm... back in my student days I lived off of coffee and no-doz... failing that might I suggest those clear snore-strips you tape over your nose..

*makes a note to stop at the pharmacy for discrete nose-strips after class ...*
What kinda stuff are you up to today? And this evening as well? Ya see, for another couple of weeks yet, milady still has Wednesday night dart league. So for a bit, I still have one quiet and restful evening for net chatters ...
And MSN Messenger tied to the e-mail address found at the bottom of my PS.

I'll be out for a bit. PC and I have an appointment this evening.
My IM addresses are all at the bottom of my PS as well.

Then if you don't mind, I will add you to the MSN listings. I don't do Yahoo or other such stuff, ... never had any need or interest.
Do have yourself an enjoyable evening.

Thank you so much. I'm back from our appointment and PC had to go to work again... I've bought some lovely snapper that I'll serve with a fresh salad with macerated strawberries in it whenever he comes home.

Mmmmm, sounds yummy. Compliments of the military, I've lived and worked 8 years in our Maritimes. And haven't met a fish, fresh or salt water, that I didn't like. A couple of other critters though, lobster and octopus, I find to be a bit too rich for my taste buds.
If you use the MSN Messeneger, ... your next visit will likely advise that I've added you to my contacts list. If you'd prefer I didn't, a brief note will take care of that.

I got it and of course approved.
There are very few things I don't like but I'd have to say turkey tops the list. Thankfully PC feels the same.

"My name is Nick, and I'm a non-discriminatory glutton".
I've met a few foods that I'm not too fussy about. But I'm still not one to decline something new. I enjoy some of these "Chinese buffets" that are popping up here and there. The first run past the the food lines, I try for anything that I don't yet recognize.

I'm like you... I'll try anything once... my dislike of turkey comes from childhood and I've never quite been able to shake it. I'll have it once a year and then only if there is nothing else at the Thanksgiving meal.. my mom knows me well enough to make duck instead though.

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted May 4, 2006
Imagine that? My mother knew well enough to make me duck as well. Still, there were many times that she connected, and I've a few scars left to prove it.
You meant the water fowl?

Ah well, I really can't judge on that kind. The only ones I've met were prepared by military cooks, ... The only breed of people known who can take the best quality of food stuffs, and make gloop. Differing shades and colours, but still a gloop.
*refrains from bragging that Milady was one of two good military cooks I ever met, was far prettier than the sailor named Kevin, and so became "Milady"*

I grew in a family where the 4 lads all worked with Dad (self-employed plumbing and heating, electrical, etc contractor), one girl learned the domestic stuff, and the other other learned nothing. The baby of the clan, ya know. I learned to cook the old fashioned way, sheer desperation!!! A work camp where none of the men were gonna cook and serve the 17 year old kid.
Since, I can comfortably say that I've not prepared a meal yet that was unpalatable. And I really do enjoy experimenting in the kitchen.
Key: Complain about this post
