Okay, okay, I will...later...
Sorry. I promise that I will some time in the next twenty-four hours.
Two more days of school left ! We're not doing much work.
The private schools have finished already

Just two more days? (well, less now!)
Great Are you planning anything special for your holidays?
How is the weather there now? Here it is becoming numbingly hot by noon --- too hot to do anything except sit with my feet in the river
That, and drink ice cold from chilled glasses....

Hot? You're lucky.
It's quite cold here.
But I only just stopped wearing shorts
All I want to do in the holidays is see my friends and hang out on h2g2.
It sounds too good, so it's not gonna happen though.

taliesin Posted Jul 5, 2001
Whyever not? It sounds like a reasonable plan to me...
Of course, if you have a chance to visit Greece, or Paris, or... maybe that would be an excuse for missing a bit of h2g2.
Ah, well, you have time to lounge about, I suppose. I know I did a fair bit of lounging about in my early teens. And in my later teens. And a few days ago
Are you able to get out of the city, (assuming you live in a city), and spend some time in the wilderness?
I have never visited 'The Land Down Under', but I have wanted to ever since developing a friendship with my linguistics prof, who happened to be an Australian... He was an excellent story-teller, who had spent many years living with and studying the Aboriginal Australians

Hehehehehehe
I'm sick though
I live in a city, except it is completely un-cityish, as in ~really~ un-cityish, and I live on the edge too.
I've never visited Canada. But I have some distantish relative there (in British Columbia too I think).
You should come down here one day. It's really
I'm going to try to make it to Canada sometime in the next millennium or so
I read your footnotes BTW, and I think I have a few more questions which I'm not going to ask yet

Sick, eh? I hope you are feeling better soon.
In the meantime, have a , and a or two
The new smileys are
I especially like the , and the , and the , and the and...
Actually, I like them all, and the dogs love the
Especially Konagh, who is half wolf...
I really do intend to visit Australia someday. I am very interested in the fauna. I mean, kangaroos are so.. weird! Neat, too.
Well, it's getting late, and I am -ing, so it's off to

that just means you have to go online even more
ask your folks for high speed internet access
use
or tell them it's for a project
but don't make them think you're becoming a

I was online for 3 hours on Saturday.
Hmmmm.
It sure distracted me!
We already have high-speed internet access
Or fast enough for me anyway
It's 57, 600 bps
I'm already a
You're really enjoying the new smilies aren't you?
~what a long, strange trip it's been~
taliesin Posted Jul 9, 2001
yep!
57,600bps Is that dial-up or cable access?
The best I can get so far is 48,000bps
I am going to try a shielded cable instead of a long flat telephone wire extention.. maybe that will speed things up a bit
~what a long, strange trip it's been~
. Posted Jul 9, 2001
I think it's dial-up.
Good luck!
Is there any way to see the GuideML of a guide entry, like the way you view a user page.
I tried replacing the A with "TestGuideEntry" but it didn't work.
Have you read Harry Potter yet?
~what a long, strange trip it's been~
taliesin Posted Jul 9, 2001
Whoa! that is very good for dial-up. You must have a 'clean' connection and good cabling.
The TestUserPage trick does not seem to work with anything except personal user pages. I have tried TestArticlePage and TestEntryPage as well
If you are running IExploder, you can view the source -- just save the page to your harddrive, and examine it with notepad or some other text editor. You have to eliminate all the common display items, such as the buttons and the peer review banner, and the other sections of the page, and look for the code that describes the specific contents you are looking for -- It is a real pain, though, particularly since any neat formatting is lost -- all the code is jammed together, making it difficult to read. If you want to attempt it, one way is to try it on one of your own pages first, so you can compare the source view with the GuideML code view, then you'll know what to look for. Another way is to ask the author of the page to copy the code to a forum posting, or e-mail it to you.
Harry Potter is nearing the top of my list. I just have to finish three or four others first...

Ve haf vayz....
I have no idea.. it may be that there is now an Abundance of ACEs, but not yet a Sufficiency of Scouts
And now I am also creating my personal website... I guess I am just a glutton for work

I had to wait a month. Good thing too.
I finally got on to the calander page!
Yippedy-yoo!
~Yo, Scout ;-)
taliesin Posted Jul 10, 2001
Still on line, I see
wtf is a calander?
You mean calendar, don't you? Unless you're talking about some cooking page, (colander) Fire that spell checker!!
Me, too -- although I haven't looked there yet, but Sir Chris said I was on it...

. Posted Jul 10, 2001
I always spell it wrong. Maybe now I'll learn.
I saw you on it.
I saw me too.
Yes, I'm still here. But I had a big break in the middle where my Mum took over.

taliesin Posted Jul 10, 2001
Yeah, I noticed you went offline for a while there
I was looking for newbies, monitoring the 'who is online' pop up, which self-refreshes if the servers are working well, and saw you drop off, then pop back on a few minutes ago.
Technology is wild
I'm dropping off, myself.. to sleep, that is. It's been a long day

'Space... the final frontier... these are...' Oops!
I wonder if/when we will get another huge influx of new Researchers similar to that following DNA's departure?
We certainly have enough ACEs hanging around to make newbies welcome
How are you doing with GuideML, BTW? You asked me about viewing the code for 'A' numbered pages a while back -- were there any particular pages you were curious about?
Key: Complain about this post
