Howdy, just noticed your handle, that is was backwards, (I figured that out by holding my computer monitor up to a mirror!)
Anyhow, I hope you're having fun at H2G2, I know I am this place is totally nuts!
Do drop on by http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A528617 for a sing along. It's not classical, but what the h**l

Hey, you're the first person who noticed!! Well done!
How did you get to my page in the first place?
I love this site!!

Just trying out new smileys!

I just have that weird kind of mind. I sometimes do word puzzles upside down. I mean, the puzzles, not me
Others, (less kind), might say I have always been a bit backward
I enjoy using the s, too. One of my favz is this one:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The addition of the expectorant trail and the winking smiley adds a certain... frisson(?)
Oh, BTW, one of the rules here at H2G2 is no spitting! Oops!
How did you hold your computer monitor up to a mirror? Do you mean the other way round?
I Love smilies too
Oh that's what spitting means (I'm stupid)
Oh, right.
Sorry.
By the way, I love mirror writing. I would write using it from right to left the whole time if I could. Can/do you?
taliesin Posted Apr 3, 2001
No, but some of my friends are!
'BBC's Restraints' is just a way of saying, 'lighten up!' It also reviews H2G2's history a little.
I used the word 'protest' very loosely, and mainly because Arlo's song was a protest against the draft. I don't really mind the new restrictions, such as they are. It is unfortunate that the site will not accept external images, and that there is no room to store such images on site... I will have to put off my guide entries on such things as origami and rope tying until I create and link up my own web pages.
You may notice I now call the song location a 'sing-in' I figure that a sing-in sounds less militant. Since a 'sing-in' is by definition 'in-side', it has less chance of drawing 'heat' from 'the man'! Now if those Hare Krishna types would just settle down...
I won't reply in kind, because the Modz might remove this so they can have it translated...
Have you ever tried writing with both hands as the same time? That is, have you ever indulged in simultaneous cursive ambidexterity? Backwards? Or with one mirror and the other 'normal'?
Too bad keyboards don't allow real mirror writing. Say, I wonder if there is a mirror font out there on the web? Hmmm..
The Modz are mad. Yes, that's what they tried to moderate. Couldn't they (whether they be computers or people) tell it was merely English backwards?
YES!!!! I love doing mirror writing with both hands, and do it blerrie often!! Do you? I'm technically right-handed but it's boring to admit that, and by now my left hand has had enough practise it's almost as good as my right.
Interesting idea...
Can you read backwards writing easily?
I like that one!!
taliesin Posted Apr 5, 2001
I have not (yet) attempted mirror writing with both hands. I will do so at the earliest opportunity...
~fumbles about desk, looking for a primitive writing instrument~
Ah, yes, a 'pen', that's what they were called... dang! this thing is out of ink...
When I read backward or upside down, (or backward AND upside down!), writing, it is initially slow, and then it becomes easier. This is probably analagous to looking at those 3D images that resemble nothing more than random noise, until you focus in a certain way. The one has to do more with visual perception, whereas the other with cognitive perception.
Are you familiar with daVinci's codex?
I like , too!
Haven't you? I thought you would've which is why you asked Hurry up
Same here. Yes I know I love watching it come into focus.
Nope, explain. Are you (this in italics) familiar with Esher (spelling?)
to you too
Sorry. Been burnin' up the keys...
Ok, I tried the simultaneous ambidextrous writing. Cursive worked really well for me, but uncial was a bit more difficult. It is easier to write backward with the left hand. Writing upside down ambidextereously (!) is very difficult. I believe I could do it with practise, but I'm not sure why I need this skill
I have to check up on the Codex. The word means simply 'manuscript', but in daVinci's case it was a special one. I believe it was written in mirror fashion.
Yes, I am familiar with Escher's work. I enjoy his artistic interpretations and exhibitions of unreal three dimensional geometry.
Sometimes the intertwined images evoke mad Celtic knotwork.
One of my favourite Escher graphics is the ants on the moebius strip.
Niwt, I thought the spelling of your name was maybe a reflection of that weird little girl from Aliens (the second movie in the series), the last human left alive on the station infested with aliens.
I think she was called "Newt," but had the most eyeball-itch-inducing Canadian accent. "Moostly they come oat at night...moostly."
Somehow "niwt" looks like it might be a more accurate spelling of her painful pronunciation of the word.
Okay, I admit it: I am intolerant of Canadians.
~sevawwaves~
. Posted Apr 10, 2001
Nah, Niwt's just backwards. I only ever write it though, and never ever say it out loud, because I simply cannot pronounce it. Thank for making me a Zaphodista! The mods removed one of my postings because it was in backspeak
Hello upside down person, I won't be able to reply in depth for ages due to lack of time. Sorry! I will come back, I promise!
testing...
I find it easier to write backwards with right, but I stuffed up my handedness 6 months ago
I've never tried writing upsidedown. Well I have, but my writing
Well tell me everything!
He's brilliant. He gives me headaches too.
I like that one.
