Housing plumbers and joiners have found and repaired water-pipe leak under the floorboards of mam's kitchen
Apparently by all accountsit's been a small leak over months and had rotted the underside of floorboards etc.
All repaired and floorboards replacedalas! Plywood put down on top as a temp' until "someone" comes to lay new vinyl flooring, but as "this" is not classed as "essential" due to corona etc, it could be a while ?

Aw, wow! Glad they fixed the leak. But at your mom's age, having her floor fixed so she can safely walk on it should be considered essential!

Not so much the floor as suchbut 2 weeks after breaking her right armnot the sort of thing to have to contend with

at least it's safe for her to walk on

Well, that's good, at least! I hope things quiet down at her house.

We have a rumour that the sun might come out tomorrow. And it might get up closer to zero. It's been cold for two days now, with intermittent snow. And everybody's tired of it.

I've played hell up with mam and sister!
I told them I'M the one that does the near death stuff etcand they are stealing my thunder

mam = broken arm
sister and family = copping coronavirus

All quiet on the Eastern FrontMam recovering at a steady pace (and semi cantankerous state seems to be returning as well )
Kitchen sorted as suchleak repaired, new floorboards replaced where needed and temp' plywood sheeting down until "a worker" comes to put some new vinyl down

A little warmer today, and the sun put in an appearance this afternoon. Still snow everywhere, though.

It's like the way we missed all the tornados in North Carolina - we were on a ridge, and the tornados went down the next ridge over, down the interstate. We'd track them by satellite on the computer.
