Thanks for the personal view of heights, FS.
CC, is this your funicular?

Okay, Pierce, here are the lyrics WE sang to that song:
The other day I wore into the subway
My high silk hat, my high silk hat.
I laid it down upon the seat beside me,
My high silk hat, my high silk hat.
A big fat lady came and sat upon it, My high silk hat, my high silk hat,
A big fat lady came and sat upon it, My high silk hat, my high silk hat.
Christopher Columbo, now what d'ye think of that?
Christopher Columbo, now what d'ye think of that?
My hat she broke, now what's the Joke?
My hat she broke, now what's the Joke?
Christopher Columbo, now what d'ye think of that?

Elektra shares this trait with you. My dad was like that, too. He hated ladders. Me, I always used to seek out the highest vantage point.
Of course, I'm clumsy, so that's dangerous...

Yes! That's it! That's my Hastings funicular! Thanks friend. Brings it all back.
So you saw it then, Icy? (I'm fast becoming a funicular geek ).
I'm amazed about the one in North Devon, linking Lynton and Lynmouth! I just checked it on Wiki. Holy heights, that's steep! I've lived in South Devon for twenty five years and I've never known about it. Now I'll visit. Thanks Icy!
Funny word, funicular. I wonder where it comes from? Funicular.
Bit of a classic quote from Magwitch, about the mezzanine. . That's just so funny. . Permission to quote you, please Magwitch, next time I'm faced with a height.

Funicular comes from the Latin for 'a small rope'.
Shame. It should be a mix of 'fun' and 'spectacular'.

PS. It's water powered?
What is?
The Lynmouth/Lynmouth funicular, in North Devon. England.

This has changed my world view. . Water powered??
