Haiku challenge!

Big things in this world
Include elephants and whales
And EV's ego.
Pencils are ideal
For use in writing haikus.
They get to the point.

Dragonfly. "A poet can survive everything but a misprint"-- Oscar Wilde Posted Dec 31, 2000
WOW!!! I think I will bow out and just admire the haikus, unless I get quite inspired... so much fun!!!
I'm more of a Shakespearian Sonnet-type girl, though...

Married crossdressers
Must have trouble deciding
Who wears the trousers
or on a less cheeky note
Trousers are handy
Without pockets imagine
Where you'd keep your stuff
ok, seriously
I don't wear trousers
Usually too dressy for me
Blue jeans do the job
NT: Gluttony

Eating too much is
Not essential to having
A happy new year.
(Or at least that's what I concluded *after* eating too much at Christmas)

The New Century
And the New Millennium
Here for real this time
For all those that use
Gregorian Calendars
A New Year begins
For anyone who
Follows another timeline
It's just tomorrow
NT: Calender (Note the spelling. I'm sure I've been guilty of misspelling Calendar far more than I realize.)

A calendar is
handy if you want to know
the date. Q.E.D
I wish I could write
really great haiku like some
of those I see here.
But I'm really glad
everyone is popping in
to write them for me!
Welcome Lux Rothchop

do in Haiku, Wot?
And hey, since I'm particularly awful at it, myself, Dragonfly, I think thou shouldst stay, and keep the bad haiku-ers company

I thought the museship I asked for was rather appropriate to me! Y'see, we have the awfully good poets here, but I am just awful. But never mind, I have fun, and I really love reading the haiku that people with actual talent produce.
Hm, let's see, movies, movies...
Black and white, no sound
digitally remastered,
that make-up is green!
That made sense to ME anyway. And I'm awfully smug at getting 'digitally remastered' into a haiku.
next: movies you've seen over and over again.

Well I saw this documentary on TV that stated that they used green makeup on the actors in black and white movies. I think it was so that it would stand out better. Dunno how they overcame that when they colourised them, but there you go. Also, I think that was fairly early on, but it's a while since I saw that, so I forget, now.
