Ellie is SEVEN?!? Wow, how time flies!
I don't know how Chunk's hair would have grown, the babysitter kept trimming bits off without asking me (to be fair, it really needed to be cut and I just wasn't ready to face that reality at the time). Now he has very fine straight hair and it's in something like a bowl cut.
Elwood, was this your family portrait?

Gosho, grandma wasn't our streaker, it was broe jr.
We got married outdoors on a farm that had an inground pool, so we had a somewhat informal do, and then invited everyone to go swimming afterward. We cut the cake later in the afternoon, so we're all standing around in our bathing suits eating cake in the pool house. broe jr had just gotten out of the pool and thought we wouldn't want him to drip water in the pool house, so he took off his trunks before coming in.
He was 5.
And he hates it when you remind him of it now.

Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~ Posted Nov 26, 2007
yesterday my daughter was 7 - today she's 19
that's how it feels anyway
and just last night i was reminded about how one night my firstborn and i joined a friend - a vet - on his nightwatch. now my son is 25!
and son #2 will bring his soon to be wife for christmas
they grow up so fast. quite unlike their father. it took me 50 years to develop the psyche and maturity of an 18 year old - but it only took 18 years to make my body feel like that of a 50 year old
does this make any sense? if not i didn't post it

Hey Broe, Pierce and Elly
Even 7 isn't like 7 used to be...
I was driving little ellie to school Thursday, a 35 minute drive, and I noticed her brow was furrowed in thought. So I asked "What are you thinking at?"
Her response "You wouldn't believe me."
Me,"Well you won't know unless you try me."
ellie"I was just thinking my life is like a scene."
Me,"A scene? Like a TV show or movie?"
ellie,"No. Like a flat picture where everything is moving but I,m the only thing that's real."
Me,"Other people have thought and felt that, honey." To myself, "Yeah, at 20 or 30 years older."
ellie, "Daddy what if everyone is like that? Living in their own scene where they are the only real thing?"
...
Me, "Aren't those pretty decorations over there sweetie?"
I think I'm in big trouble with this girl.
Hope all of your holiday seasons are progressing well.

Maybe she's the next Deep Thought...
But why don't you ask her next time to say what she thinks it's like, if everyone were the only real thing in their own scene. you'll dodge a bullet and she may make it clearer to you what she wants to hear.
Just a thought....

reminds me of this comic strip i saw only days ago, where grandma tells her granddaughter 'you must always remember, my dear, that you are a very unique and special person'
says the granddaughter 'you mean just like everybody else is?'
granny: 'er, yes...'

No. Dr. Suess.
Merry Christmas Broe and everyone else here.
Little ellie is like every other kid the day after Christmas (I hope) right now she is in the other room playing with her new toys.

Never!
Because we've just traded away all our name-makers, it might be awhile before we see another World Series.
Go Tigers!

Well, yes, that too, of course.
ab, I was thinking of you just the other day, even before I saw you on Gosho's page. It's nice to see you around! How the heck are ya?
