Gnomon - time to move on

I won't be able to meet on Tuesday night until about 8:30 as I go to see my aged father that evening. That's early enough for food for me, but might be too late for some others.

I'm afraid I've been booked to play music on Tuesday 10th. Sorry guys, but see you on the 11th.

I've been known to eat much later than that.

You can call me TC

Is it a public concert?

Alas no, it is a gathering of friends playing for our own amazement.

You can call me TC

OK, so on Tuesday 10th we shall not eat until Gnomon has texted us where you are meeting. And on Wednesday 11th we shall be at Stephen's Green.

I'm surprised we can eat that late in a pub. I always find it most odd that in English pubs the kitchen closes (mind your fingers!) at 9 pm or even earlier. Maybe that has changed in the past couple of years, but there are many stories I could tell about that!

It's just me, Trig, TC and Mr TC on Tuesday, is that right? We could go to a restaurant if you like? I'm not that familiar with the availability of food in pubs in Dublin, although I can ask my daughter who is a student. She'll know.

Erm hello.

Would you have space for a Zen or two? We haven't booked our ferry yet, but we may be able to arrive on Tuesday.

Gnomon - time to move on

We should meet on Tuesday evening in the Grand Central pub, junction of O'Connell Street and Abbey Street. I'll try and make it there by about 8:30, but it might end up being 9:00.

Do TC and Trig have any problem if I pass on your mobile phone numbers to each other?

Fine by me.

I've been in the Grand Central only once. I recall they do rather nice cocktails. But that was a while ago, so I may be wrong.

TRiG.smiley - surfer

Ferry from Scotland to NI, then driving down to Dublin? And then on to Cork later, I assume?

Ye'll be seeing a bit of the country, so.

TRiG.smiley - cheers

Incidentally: Nearest LUAS (tram) stop to the Grand Central is Abbey Street. It's very close indeed.

TRiG.smiley - bus

Unfortunately, Dublin has two Luas lines and there's no connection between them. The one at Abbey St is the red line. I'm on the Green line which is about 20 minutes' walk from there.

We'll be getting the ferry to Larne, picking up a hire car in Belfast, and then driving down to Dublin.

ALl booked! smiley - ok

Can't wait to see you all.

Hang on, when are you driving down to Dublin? smiley - whistle

Ok, well our ferry gets into Larne @ 1205 then it's a pootle into Belfast on the train to pick up the car, so maybe we'll be leaving at about 3pm.

Fancy swapping a lift from Larne-Belfast for a lift from Belfast -- Dublin?

If I am going to Dublin it will be by train. It is a big if, though, at the moment.
