Ichii the Killer
Posted May 31, 2003
In my continueing quest to seek out those bits of culture that the rest of the world cannot find (or in this case the rest of the UK), off me and Ed went to see Ichii the Killer at the Prince Charles Cinema.
Alarm bells started going when I realised that the movie is being shown uncertificated, under the auspices that the Prince Charles is a private club that you pay to get into.
2 1/2 hours later, out we wander, like the rest of the audience thoroughly shell shocked. Undoubtedly the second oddest movie i have ever seen. In the first ten minutes we are treated to a man watching a pimp violently raping one his girls. As he flees the scene, we cut to close up of a semen soaked pot plant, then to an extrmem close up (with appropriate sound effects) of the semen dripping onto the floor.
Torture, rape, incomprehensible plot and motives, a protagonist with one of the weirdest sense of dress since...well, forever and some of the most bizarre characters I've ever seen in a movie, this one has it all.
Blues Shark says check it out, but only if you have strong constitution and don't eat before you go...

Faaantastic day today...

Well, not today as such. It's bank holiday monday and it *was* a bit of a bore, but it was a good weekend.
I'd like to thank my employers for making it possible by paying for me to go to London on Friday and do a ridiculous amount of work (about one hour total), enabling me to have lunch with someone quite special to me, and find time to buy that new pair of so expensive boots I've been wanting for the last year.
I'd like to say to Ed and Bob for making me laugh down the pub, and tolerating me in their flat until three in the morning, not to mention feeding me tea and chocolate .
I'd like to thank my good taste for my CD collection which has kept me entertained for the last two days.
And I'd like to thank those members of this community who have helped to keep me sane over the last month. No names, no pack drill, to avoid es, but I'm sure you know who you are.

...my temper. Don't just count to ten, fool, count to 1,000. And more if necessary.
My paranoia - and I don't how to stop that short of a frontal lobotomy.
My inability to trust thos who really don't want to hurt me.

Retaliation

Hmm, should I, shouldn't I?
is it the h2g2 equivalent of a land war in SE Asia or is it a cleansing of the mind and soul in a final apocalyptic act of madness that i need to go through before I can move my life on?

Things i never thought I'd say...

I think I want to move to Scotland. they appearto have a proper group of socialists in their parliament, albeit they call themselves the Liberal Democrats. Congratulations to them for sticking it to McConnell and Tony's cronies this week.
And while we're here, lets have a few more politicians like Rosie Kane. Every time I see her on tv I am more and more impressed.
