Intimations of Mortality

You need to quit your job.
Reason 1: you can't have your number come up before I can attend your funeral, and I won't be within a drive's distance for a while.
Reason 2: you don't deserve that kind of bullsh*t.
As an alternative, I suggest you come to the US and hide in our trailer and play with our preschoolers. Juice boxes and Bob the Builder and fainger painting should improve your stress levels by quite a bit, I'll reckon .

Never, ever, make that offer to me. Unless by 'improve' you mean 'send sky high and result in infancide".

My kids have more curative powers than an elixir pulled from the stewed carcasses of Mother Theresa, the Dalai Lama, and the Buddha and stirred into a sweet-tasting potion!

Um. Me and anything under the age of 10 that has two legs are a bad combination.
Nothing specific against your children dear, I'm sure they're wonderful, as children go.

Oi! Play nicely with the other visitors to my journal, Kerr!
Turns out the malingering git didn't have a coronary at all, but had pulled a bunch of muscles in his chest which produces almost exactly the same symptoms. Typical civil servant...
Still, it made me think about a load of stuff, and I shall be acting on most of it over the weekend. Stay tuned for developments.

On the plus side, if it's almost exactly the same symptoms, he knows what to look out for next time. A dry run, so to speak.

Well, yes.
Then I open our poxy trade journal and read that another colleague - one of the nicest, sweetest guys you could ever wish to meet, who had left for pastures new, died of a brain haemorrahage at the age of 42 a couple of weeks ago...
You malicious b*st*rd. You know who I'm talking to.
But the good news is that my mum pulled through her op ok this week and should be home on monday.

I had a freakish cramp on the left side of my chest last week that was so severe I actually had a sort of 'i'm going to die' panic attack. Very bizarre.
Keep us posted on updates Bluesy . I'll be very glad to hear improvements my favorite shark is making to his life

The trouble is i don't know that many of them will seem like improvements to my life in the first instance...
As Jimmy Cliff once said 'I got a hard road to travel/ Got a rough, rough way to go'
I think it'll all work out in the end, though.
