Morning;
Posted Aug 4, 2002
In rare instances my favorite part of the day such as when I wake feeling completely rested, and the rest of the house is still asleep, and I fix myself a great breakfast (cereal, a slice of crumb cake, and a glass of lemonade, or buttermilk pancakes, or waffles, or a hot cup of Lady Grey tea, and one can surely not forget the classic toasted peta bread with slices sharp white chedder cheese and spread over with my grandmother's homemade apricot jam).
Actually, I take that back...
That cereal, crumb cake, and glass of lemonade is making me feel sick...
But in any event,
Got together with a few friends and played Sunshine of your Love at this party a few days ago. Great fun. Ended the last chord in KeithMoonesque sort of way as I pushed over my bass drum and drum throne and stood up as we were holding it for as long as we could. Also, one of they guys at the party stumbled up on stage, beer mug in hand, pushed away the singer from the mic and began singing along.
And it's not that I only have a month left of vacation. It's all relative, I figure. So, really, I have a whole f*****g month left. A whole month left of parties, and getting my AP summerwork out of the way and also getting paid to hang out and have fun in the excellent company of musicians, artists, writers, and media-buffs all in their early or mid-twenties and all of which throw some the best parties I've ever been to.
Right on.
Let's talk about books, though.
Actually, let's not...
Well, briefly, don't read A Handmaid's Tale if you can avoid it (it's well-written for the book it's supposed to be, but then again, if I'd known it was the most depressing book ever and I wasn't forced to read it for school, I wouldn't have gone near it).
And do read 1984, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Name of the Rose, and Shogun...
Right now.
Go.
I'm sure the book store is still open.
Hell, steal the books if it isn't.
Purple-pants Girl's best friend is her boyfriend who's older, stronger, and taller than myself. But we're still friends and we flirt so I suppose things aren't too bad. Besides, I've come to thinking that even though there seems to be some sort of chemistry between us, it's proven to simply make us decent enough friends in the sense that we talk, joke, and sometimes even flirt rather openly with one another.
So, I mean, it's good and I really like her, but who knows how compatable we'd be romantically. Then again, she's still much unlike any girl I've ever met before.
And then again, again, I've her number and though she boards during the schoolyear, there's no harm in trying to work out sometime we could meet and go out somewhere. Maybe Harvard Square, or Downtown Boston...
I'll figure it out.
Damn it's been a while since I was here...
Three weeks, I'd say, since I was signed in for more than ten minutes.
And I owe the Editors six picks or more. Overdue, of course.
And I've got to arrange this board meeting for lunch this afternoon but I really could do without calling people I haven't spoken to since mid-June.
And thus,
You take the blue pill , the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.
You take the red pill , you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes....
Remember, all I'm offering is the truth, nothing more....
