The Kentucky Derby is Decadent and Depraved
Posted May 5, 2002
Yes.
Yes it is.
Whazzock:
I have finished my thesis. Should I throw a party?
Goodnight, soul-twin. You mean the world to me
Nothing to lose....
And,
I believe I will pursue a career in diplomacy. Something I seem to be good at and truly enjoy doing.
These have been the midnight (though it's only 3:30 p.m.) sugar-induced ramblings of Yossarian Prefect.
Oh, and one final thought...
~MISSING~ Purplejen
I wonder what she's up to...

This place breaks my heart and so do all of you...
Having considered for a while what it is I wanted to get out of h2g2 I have come to various conclusions:
1. To hell with the socializing aspect of this place. I've become in constant fear that no one cares about me because of all the people I've met here I have only even remotely befriended a handful who I know if I'm not putting up the chipper side of myself in front of, will avoid me entirely, at least generally speaking.
"You try so hard you lose yourself," they tell me. So be it. I'll just stop trying.
2. I really ought to get my act together with my scoutwork and make sure I have all three of my picks in on time.
3. Summer approaching and what better way to spend all that free time than writing a few entries and establishing myself as a writer as opposed to aspiring to be some stupid, worthless bowler-hatted idiot who reacts brashly in response to disgusting monstrosities of social affairs for example and is largely ignored for various reasons I'd imagine.
4. (3. cont., really) After all isn't it all about the Guide anyway?
5. [explanation] I wanted to leave because it killed me how many people knew of me but regardless of how much I tried to be there for them, wouldn't care about me in the least. Then I realized that no matter what I did the jerks would assume I was getting attention. So, I have decided to say to hell with them all.
Also, this is the Earth Edition of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, for god's sake! How cool is that? The very fact that the thing is real (REALLY REAL, Really), and is written collaboratively by Gnomon and hundreds of people spanning the entire globe is brilliant! Don't get me wrong, shooting the breeze with people in different countries was fun and such and hey, I even befriended one of them who, so long as I keep on my chipper facade, is my soul-twin! She's great, though, and I love her. I really do.
It just kills me how fast a guy can be forgotten, though, just because of some rather disgusting monstrosities of social affairs...
6. Now, it's 2:35 in the morning and I have less than five hours to finish up my thesis and I still have 2000 more words to type.
Goodnight, social aspect of h2g2. You made me laugh and you made me cry, and I swear at times it felt as though I was the luckiest guy on Earth to temporarily befriend the people I did. The true friends I've made here know who they are and luckily it's possible for me to maintain correspondence with them outside of the Guide. There are definately others who, to this very moment, I wish I could befriend because I really think they're amazing. But what type of friendship is one-sided, eh?
To brighter days of the Guide

Shine On You Crazy Diamond
Posted Apr 27, 2002
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision
Rode on the steel breeze
Come on you raver, you seer of visions, come on you
painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!
Pile on many more layers and I'll be joining you there.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
And we'll bask in the shadows of yesterday's triumph,
and sail on the steel breeze.
Come on you boy-child, you winner and loser,
Come on you miner for truth and delusion, and shine

Is eating away at my soul, life, and dreams
I haven't felt this mad in ages!
*decides to go skinny dip in his neighbors' pool*
