last post from me til next week....in a state of high anxiety/excitment...did you have a nice halloween?? very quiet here i must say.. and glad to say most shops banned the sale of eggs and flour to anyone under age 18...and i can see that this year the streets are clean of this mess so an improvement for once

the so called ban on smoking in pubs turned into a farce.. the government chickened out of the total ban... now they will only ban it in pubs serving food... well most pubs serve crisps and nuts so are they catergorised as food???

personally i wanted it totally banned in ANY public space especially pubs, i feel sorry for the staff who have to passive smoke all the way thru their shifts... yuk...

i've heard new york is strict on smoking so i will have to see anyhoo bye for now mal see you next week...bbbyyyeee

hello mal... and i'm back from outer space...well might as well be.. what a crazy city new york is...crazy city crazy people... and crazy weather almost a heat wave...i went over expecting freezing conditions but the sun was warm and it was like a lovely spring day all the time.. only i did'nt have the clothes for that everyone was saying it was freakish weather, and over here in wales it rained almost the entire time.....

oh yes its an awe inspiring place....traffic is barmy...they argue with their horns beebing each other like mad, but unlike here no one gets out to fight or ram the other car.. they have this strange restraint..

you feel like an ant among those sky scrapers....did find the people in general very abrupt.. they are a hard nose people...what they need is more and and

i guess so.. but i did enjoy myself.. probably i was missing littlun.. especially when we went in fao shwartz and saw the big piano....just felt it was wrong to be there with out her...

if it wasn't for the bum numbing journey [and the cost] i'd go again asap but with hubby and littlun

Just came back from a Klezmer concert

and i now know that klezmers not a heavy metal group glad you enjoyed...when i was in NY we were opposite madison square garden and i saw that U2 were due to play there.. i think today.... but no good for me as i left on the 6th.. plus reckon tickets were enormous ammount of money... but i'd have looked into it.. i did have my credit card...

These tickets were expensive enough, but it was a nice reward for myself

you've got to treat yourself every now and again...or else what is life for.... deep philosophical moment there

i didn't know bovril king was due to have major surgery, he never let on when i spoke to him now and again....i see from the thread that hes recovering well and i'm sure he would tell us to enjoy life to the full...except not to damage our selves in the process...

it really makes you think though.. doesn't it...

yes, my mother's in hospital too at the moment

i'm sorry to hear that i hope its nothing too serious although just being in hospital is worrying enough, any idea when she'll be discharged?
