Meet me under the whale in the natural history museum...
Malabarista - now with added pony Started conversation May 14, 2012
Actually, I don't think the Ulster Museum has a whale, but there is a giant Irish elk. And it would make a great spot for a Meet. In case you missed it in Ask (F19585?thread=8293084), we're trying to put together a Belfast meet, possibly in the summer months.
Who's up for coming over, and when would you have time?

I'd love to come but I'm afraid with a tiny wiggly one that might not be feasible
perhaps next time...

Word of advice: stay clear of the more obvious public holidays if we're going to the museum. I was there on Easter Monday and the rest of the country had the same idea. I didn't get a lot of pleasure out of it. Being there in a big group when it's like that would be even worse...

Be careful with dates, as many air companies are boosting prices due to Olympics.
Also any time that reduces rugrat infestation is good.
If I do come, could someone suggest good Irish music pubs?
Can't do 10th to 20th Aug. as Folk Festivalling.

Sure MMF, we can point you in the right direction there! John Hewitt, Madden's, McHugh's, Kelly's...there's no shortage!
Will your fiddle be coming too?

Trig. Will check it out when dates decided.
KB, definitely. Probably be on a 4 day stay, if I've accrued the time, and not competing with others.
Look forward to it.

I'm sure we can find room for plenty of people to stay over, too - though my house might not be the best for you, MMF. The guest room is on the third floor.

I know I mentioned McHugh's above, but I've just been in there and they were playing the kind of country-cum-Irish that makes you want to throw yourself under a herd of cattle. Please strike Post 10 from the record!
