Taking a break from ACEing

It's my Winter Blues draining my mind
http://www.outsidein.co.uk/sadinfo.htm

I barely have enough mental strength to keep me functioning at work - dealing with customers, colleagues, internal auditors.. and that's about it. When it comes to empathy or sympathy, that's put on hold for now.

But don't you worry - it'll pass, it always does, sooner or later - and when it does, you won't know what hit you!smiley - winkeye

Unsub, unsub, unsub

Yet another thread on the <./>ACEs</.>' home page turned into a private conversation between two researchers rather than taking it to their respective user pages - now you know why I don't seem to be subscribed to that page.

I am subscribed, see - but I've seen this happen once too many times, and I so very rarely find the threads informative that I usually unsubscribe from a thread the moment I notice it.

*sighs*

Omnipresent

Oh woe the curse of having more than one researcher ID!

I look here, I look there
I post here, I post there

Trying to care
Trying to pay attention

Meanwhile
Trying to juggle
Too many balls in the air

Why bother?

Why bother to double check two-asterisk researchers on the <./>NewUsers</.> page, when no one else seems to bother?
(Why do I even check? Well - because in many cases the first posting on a newcomer's page wasn't made by an ACE!)

Why bother to point out to other ACEs that they've had responses to their ACE messages, when he/she (just one, so far) doesn't even bother to reply to my posting, or to the newcomer's response?

Why bother to start a casual easy-going conversation with a newcomer, when the conversation will soon be invaded by other ACEs doing their best to smother the newcomer with an overload of info, links, tips, advice? Way too often that seems to intimidate the newcomer....

Oh - swell!

Yet again I discover that other ACEs do *not* bother about late updated user pages - it would be interesting to know how many ACEs that actually bother to check some time back since I almost *always* finds some poor overlooked newcomers!smiley - cross

To be fair, all of those that I found were not 1-asterisk-newcomers - but then I try to check up *all* newcomers, because two asterisks just shows that they have been visited by *someone* - not necessarily an ACE!

And have I pointed this out to the other ACEs? Yes!!! On more than one occassion? YES!!!smiley - steam
