lol, yes I do *wonders where put it* He's back at school: there was a sort of Show and Tell. Alceste brought in a menu;Agnan brought an atlas, while Nicolas brought in a shell- as did two others. rufus brought in a knife, much to the teachers distress, lol
I also have other books- don't think any1 will let me buy more as yet, lol *sigh*

that's what libraries are for! though they usually don't have any decent books, and the ones they do have are taken out

Exactly the problem in our town- sci-fi just doesn't seem to be a priority, lol
But will have to resort to a combo of borrowing all of my mum's French books and going library, as do not have enough shelf-space for desired expansion,

I was looking through my stuff in storage the other day, and guess what I found.... Les récrés du petit nicholas!!!! I was so happy
By the way did you get any results? If so how did they go?

Woo! Hey, i never finished the other one...
My French Teacher got me reading hard lit now, it's sooo difficult. One of them's Huis clos by Satre- I understand the philosophy at the start, but not how the stuff in the play relates to it.
We have a new girl in our class who lived in France for 8 yrs, so she does all the talking now lol. Is good having someone who knows what they're doing.
Yes, got 5As and a B in Critical thinking!Am now doing French, Maths, Chemistry and German AS. how about you? What's next for you?

Michael Posted Sep 19, 2005
wo wo wo, run that by me again, 5 A's and a B? well done!
I did quite well, I'm starting university in a week and a bit, doing physics. Quite looking forward to it
Humm... french hard lit, not recommended but then I'm not great when it comes to litterature

thanks Sorry I've replied late, I've been busy, as has Hootoo
Lvin the lol
How's university treating you?
I gave up with the extra lit, am just trying to get my head round the two books we're doing for the exam. Then I've got two essays to do this half-term French this year has doubled my homework lol Good job I like it really

That's ok, the important bit is that you came back
University's been pretty good so far, lot better than at home, probably not quite what I expected. In many ways its like sixth form (playing cards all the time) with the added bonus that I can now go on hootoo when I want!
Two essays!? That's a lot for one subject isn't it so far not much work to do here but that's likely to change.

awww
Cards! Glad to hear the craze has swept the country We play all the time too. And being able to go on hootoo whenever you want isn't really and advantage, I find it difficult enough to restrain myself as it is
So between cards druing frees and Hootoo at home, i never get anything done
The whole class has one essay to do, and they did another one before half-term began. But I'm applying to Oxford for French , so I need too longish essays. That means I have to basically redo the first one and do the second one like everyone else, but longer. Am not getting v. far
Am thinking about reading L'etranger. Read it?
Languages
Michael Posted Oct 25, 2005
L'Etranger? Sounds vaguely familiar, but no haven't read it.
I know what you mean about having access to hootoo 24/7, I often find myself in the library at 1am
6th form for me was basically one big card game with a few exams stuck at the end. Year12 was spent playing a game called "sh*t head", year 13 was hearts, now its "cheat"
with the essays then
Languages
Vamster Posted Oct 25, 2005
Hearts is our new phase but i can't play, i don't know the rules as i've recently discovered.
1am! Now that's waht I call unlimited access... no, much more restraint will be needed at uni then. At least my parents go to bed...
btw, we're not talking about the essays
Languages
Michael Posted Oct 25, 2005
what essaye?
Hearts doesn't take long to learn, but ages to master, I've now become an expert at cheat
Yes you'll need a lot of restraint at uni, which I do not have
Languages
Vamster Posted Oct 26, 2005
Hmm? *scrubs out ear* Did you say, "essaie"?(sp?) Watching rugby?that's it. definately what you said.
ooo, i hate cheat, I neevr have the guts to actually try and fool people
in that case I won't talk to you all night. Starting Now.

Michael Posted Oct 27, 2005
You'll be back
I had the same problem with cheat, but this year I make everyone paranoid so despite not cheating much, people always call it

Good strategie.
I've now learned to play hearts The most irritating thing about it is it's 4 player though, either everyone wants to join in, or no-one!
Cards are great ice-breakers, you can get a whole bunch of strangers shouting at each other if you pcik the right game
Languages
Michael Posted Feb 18, 2006
Yeah, it is annoying hearts been a four playing game, we once had two games going, with the top two then going into the "final". A bit sad but there you go
Languages
Vamster Posted Feb 20, 2006
Nice to see you again by the way
We tried a two player game the other day, didn't work very well, as my tactics wouldn't adapt. The other player was concentrating on shooting the moon with one hand, and helping this along with the other

It's nice to be back, I've missed hootoo, though I don't think I'll be posting as much as before.

No, my posting's slowed down. I think it's partly because my hootoo mates have discovered other forums...
