The survey for the replacement fire doors finally got done this afternoon. No dates when they're going to be installed mind. Not bad considering the failed fire safety audit told the housing folk this work was supposed to have been completed by end of October. I guess they forgot to state which October and in what year.
Monday we're having full electrical safety tests in the flats. I really do hope they don't find owt wrong, I dread to think how long they'd take to fix anything. Some of you may recall, it took them 5 months to replace the heating system and that was through the winter. It was completed end of May, just before the start of that first mini heatwave, very useful.
Right, its back to the Halo game today, I managed to get out from underground in Unreal II so won't push me luck with that today.
Have a good day folks, ttfn.

Now, knowing we have some ex-pat cricket fans living in the USA among other places I won't post about the Ashes cricket here in case they haven't either heard or seen any highlights etc.
Suffice to say the match started on time and on schedule down under between England and Australia.
I still haven't done my main shop due to, surprise surprise, no-one showing up yesterday for these fire door surveys and so far today, still a no show. I've told the on Court manager if they don't show by end of business today then it'll be tough as I will be out tomorrow morning.
I'm now going to return to that stoopid game, Unreal II and see if I can get out from the underground death trap I keep getting killed in. Its getting embarrassing as my 12 yr old nephew has completed the entire game and at the most difficult level. I hate smart ass kids sometimes.
Right, refill me reload game and here goes. Have a good day folks. ttfn

As I mentioned a while back, Tuesdays have turned into days where I tend to have lots of stuff to do and sort. This can be anything from residents meetings to medical appts and sorting of appts.
Yesterday was no exception. I had an apt with the nurse for my 3 monthly B12 Jab. This was followed by my calling the optician to find out what was happening about the referral for Laser Surgery at the local eye hospital. It seems that somewhere between their referral and the copy of said referral going to my GP the important bit, the one to the hospital had been left off. That meant when I rang the hospital they hadn't a clue about this referral. When the optician called me back his secretary told me they'd resent the referral and this call was followed up by a secretary at the GP's surgery saying they had also sent a copy to the hospital. Now, whats the betting I get 2 appt's as a result?
As a result of all this waiting around for phone calls to be returned I was running late for my laundry slot in the afternoon. Fortunately the person after me had left a note pinned in the laundry room saying she wouldn't need her slot till after 6pm and that gave me an extra hour so laundry done and dusted.
I didn't get my usual bulk shop done so that will happen tomorrow now as today we're supposed to have surveyors round doing preparatory work for the new fire door systems.
Right, that's about it, time for some fodder and a nice mug of Have a good day folks, ttfn.

Just a flying visit as its Tuesday yet again and I've been busy on the domestic front as per usual.
Started with apt for B12 Jab then a whole series of phone calls trying to sort out the eye hospital appt. More on this tomorrow.
Need to dash off again now to put laundry through the dryer so have a good evening folks. ttfn.

This time last year was when I got confirmation of moving day. This Wednesday will be the 1st anniversary of that move. Doesn't time fly when you're having fun eh?
Whether I'll be here this time next year is debatable. I just don't think the housing association either have or will spend the sort of money required to modernise this place. The asbestos removal plan alone will cost many thousands of pounds and most of it can't be done with tenants in situ.
I guess time will tell, all we can do as residents is wait for the full plans to be revealed and what action we need to take, if any. It'll make future residents meetings interesting to say the least.
Right, enough waffle, time for a and I think I'm going to have another go on a PC game I put back on the spare pc. Its Unreal II, The awakening. I think I got as far as the underground bit without being killed last time round.
Have a good day folks, ttfn.
