The electrical safety testing went off ok. No issues found other than a note added to the file re the bathroom heater. As and when they turn this room into a 'wet room' then the storage heater they installed earlier this year will have to go as it doesn't meet the electrical safety standard for bathroom heaters. Its not waterproof.
It seems the issues regarding the replacement fire doors is being delayed by the councils planning dept. They're not happy with the look/design of the new doors, not in keeping, whatever that means. As far as I know, we're not in a conservation area as such so no idea what they want or expect. It appears the council aren't happy about the choice for replacement windows either hence the ongoing delay there as well.
All we can do is wait and see what happens over the next few months or so, in the meantime it's going to cost the Association mega bucks again for heating during the winter mths. At least that's a cost we as tenants don't have to bear.
No plans for the rest of today, domestic chores done and dusted, repeat prescription ordered online so time for a 
and see if there's owt worth watching on TV, if not it'll be a film or 3.

Just a flying visit today. Tis Tuesday which means usual chasing round on the domestic front. The electrician is here to do the safety testing so power is going to be off intermittently in a few minutes as well.
My brothers confirmed a lift is ok for the hospital next Monday so that's sorted.
We have a residents meeting at midday and then its my laundry slot so busy, busy, busy.

Not a lot worth writing about today. One of those nothing days really, did some shopping, usual domestic chores then fired up the ole pc.
I might fire up the 'games' pc shortly, I've got some early version windows games that I've discovered will work on the new updated Win 8.1 system afterall so will have a play on that for a while.
I'll probably still die a 1000 deaths though before making any headway.
So, on what's been a mostly boring sort of day I shall now re-fresh me and fire up the games pc.

I'm tired today.
This was due to a commotion, for want of a better word, in the night where it looks like someone had to use their emergency alarm system to summon help. We had a Paramedic car followed by an Ambulance outside for some considerable time in the early hours. I hope whoever it was, it isn't overly serious.
As a result I'm on a go slow sort of day today and I think it'll be mostly watching films and playing on the pc.
I'm going to have to nip out fairly smartly in the morning to do some shopping before the electrical safety bod shows up to do his testing. According to the letter explaining what they do, power is likely to be off a few times during the testing. That'll play havoc with the broadband hubs for a start.
I have to unplug all electrical stuff as part of the test involves surge testing and to avoid damage to my stuff they plug in their own meters etc. The intention is to test the trip switches in the 2 fuse board panels as well.
Right, gonna get some lunch and settle down for rest of the day.

It seems all the chasing around I did about the eye hospital appt has paid off. Today I got an appt thru for the laser treatment, its scheduled for Monday 2nd Dec.
I'll need to organise a lift with my brother as they recommend no driving for 24 hrs after treatment. I'll still need reading glasses but distance vision will be back to normal and hopefully reading won't be such a chore anymore, especially with new glasses.
On that note, me domestic chores are done so I think as there's nowt on telly as per usual it might be another film day. I'm about to watch the 4 disc box collection of Indian Jones. The first 3 films were good, not so sure about the last, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Seems to me they were running out of ideas in that one.
