It is time to say Adieu...

Dear Friends,
I have just been trying to join a very wonderful organisation. They asked for my birth date, when I wrote down 1928, I was asked four times to use a valid date. I am oractically on the verge of decidsing NOT to join it although it is a political party. ¬¬¬
I have a splitting headache, and truly i think that trying to realise the sad fact that I have been so happy and made so many friends on this website the time has come....
to bid you all adieu - to thank you for the happiness which your friendship has brought me and to accept the fact that my birth date of 1928 does not fit into the scheme of thimgs on this website.
Just remember, dear friends, that when you all reach the venerable age of being an octogenarian, that you will have the pleasure of having to go on living until you have reached your century.
What a wonderful achievement for the 20th and 21st centuries.
All good wishes for your centuries I which I am sure you will all achieve - thanks to the wonderful progress which was made duringthe life span of those of us of the 19th and 20th centuries. ....
Surely the most remarkable of all human civilization.

Two long time friends rediscovered....Shea the Sarcastic and Whisky

There is something to be said for waking up in the middle of the night and going to one.s computer.
I have rediscovered two of my very first researcher friends .
Shea the Sarcastoc
Whisky.
My third friend was Amy but somehow we never lost touch.
All of them were my very first friends on this website. Somehow along the line we have lost touch - except for Amy.
Well, my dear friends, I am still up and kicking. Next month I shall celebrate my 84 birthday,
Great to read your news and to know that you are alive and well,.
I think that I sshall start planning my birthday bash, although I expect the 100th to be the really big one. !!
Perhaps they will write to me. i could not find where I could write to them.

Third time lucky??

I have tried twice to write about two very significant events in my life.
Both times they disappeared from my screen.
Anyway, i shall now try and write about them and send them somewhere perhaps they may be welcomed.
I remember writing a long entry on that awful mine disaster in south America. i wish I could find that,
I generally just write to friends. However, with my magnificent memory exercises so much is coming back and I think that I want to share the experiences with those who might be interested.
Well who knows I might try writing the two disappearing entries again.

AM I NO LONGER ALLOWED TO BE AROUND?

i HAVE BEEN ABSENT FROM MY COINPUTER FOR TWO MONTHS - LVING IN A HAPPY WORLD OF MY OWN.
TODAY i DECIDED TO LOOK UP MY OLD FRIENDS.
SADLY I DO NOT THINK THIS IS GOING TO BE POSSIBLE, AS I HAVE A FUNNY LITTLE NOTICE WHICXH HAS COME UP SAYING THAT THE FIRST POSTING TO WHICH I REPLIED WHICH WAS WILLEM'S IN SOUTH AFRICA IS THE DATE WHICH IS CUT OFF FROM MY COMPUTER.
IF INDEED THE EDITORS HAVE DECIDEDTHAT THEY NO LONGER WANT ANYONE WHO IS [ROBABLY SUFFERING FROM DEMENTIA NOT TO BELONG TO THIS WONDERFUL WEBSITE PLEASE BE SO KIND AS TO INFORM ME PERSONALLY AND I PROMISE NEVER TO BOTHER YOU AGAIN. I SHALL WRITE FOR POTERITY SAND FOR ALL OF YOU WHO MAY ALSO SUDDENTLY FIND THAT YOUR BRAIN REFUSES TO DO WHAT YOU WANT IT TO DO.
I ACTUALLY THINK THAT IF SOMEONE WITH A RESEACHER'S MIND WOULD BE INTERESTEDI WOULD BE PERFECFTLY HAPPY TO BE THE GUINEA PIG.

Yesterday I had the marvellous surprise of a persohal christmas card from ~Chris of h2g2.
Sadly I cannot remember who it is, so would like to thank chris so very much, and perhspa if you could remind me who you are by using your run name it would jog my memory.
I have all the close peoplse who care for me coming to my christmas lunch. i.e. my wonderful secretasrry whom I call my extra brain and who keeps me together, . snd and my personal taxi gentleman who takes me to visit K. and also anywhere where I want to go, and their families coming to share the Christmas lunch with hopefully K. and I.
such a joyous time. and I have received cards from friends as far away as australia and canada. wonderful. that I am still remembered.,
with a thousand good, looving wishes for your christmas and also everything of the berst for 2p12 - the year of the London Oluympics....
Your very old but still thankful, "with it" old hootooer.
