GB, we were running it as a client from floppy, since all the prog and workunit info can reside on one disk, but now they monitor the software running on the PC's and report back to a central location, we thought it too dodgy to carry on.
Erk! Peet, yes I have, but haven't had a chance to do anything about it yet. I have been otherwise engaged recently Mind on other things and all that
I'll take a look later in the week, and report what i find.
Thanks for reminding me though.

400 Units, well done J. I've just finished number 50.
What were you doing last Thursday that kept you otherwise busy?

Thanks sweetheart.
I'm having a slight problem with SETI, can anyone help? I haven't been able to connect to the server for about 3/4 weeks now, not even to load their website. What do I do??

Are there any other websites you can no longer access, or is the problem confined to SETI?

Mina, what's your computer setup? (Operating system, memory, browser, firewall/proxy etc.)
First possibilities I'd like to eliminate - are you running a personal firewall, or any ad-busting proxies? If you don't know what these are, you probably aren't...

Operating system - Windows 98 I think, memory - not quite sure what you're asking, or how I can find out?, browser - Opera and IE 5 doesn't work on either, firewall/proxy etc no, don't think so, and no ad busters or anything like that.

I can see the site all right on IE... Are you typing the URL in from the top of the SETI screensaver? Make sure you got all the "e"s in "berkeley"...
They were down for three hours last night - to quote their front page, "— September 24, 2001 —
We had some serious server problems due to an electrical storm, causing a network outage between 7:15pm and 10:15pm (PDT)."
I'll give it some thought and get back to you...

Thanks very much.
I'm using the same bookmark I always used, so it can't be that.
I appreciate this, as it's getting annoying. I want to find ET!

They hid the whole thing! Just for a URL, or was it the joke URL removed?
