h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

We're both playing GL's role playing game, and I was wondering if you could help me with something. About a week after the game is schedualed to start, I'm going on vacation with my father. I won't be able to post from the 11th or 12th to about the 14th or 15th (five days at the most). I've come up with a way to stay in character /and/ expain my absence in the game, but I need your help to pull it off. Before I bore you with my plan, would you be willing to help?

It's not a huge secret, so I'll just post you here. I figgure that, just before I have to leave, I could have Johan Lorenzen (my character), say something to yours in the main thread (in front of everybody) that questions your authority. I think that questioning the captain's authority would be enough cause for you to throw me in the brig, or confine me to quarters or something, at least for a few days. When I get back, you could decide I've learned my lesson, and let me out. That way we stay basically in character and we explain why I'm gone for a few days. What do you think?

I'll have a think on it over the next few days and come up with a plausible arguament for you that would make the situation possible LOL, I forgot my dad is here from Oz that week, so I might have to confine myself too Should be ok, should manage to get on at least once a day Speak to you later.

I'm going to put this thread to the attention of GL, so that he knows what we're doing, and isn't blindsided by it. I'm looking forward to begining the game in two days.

Sounds good, guys. I suspect there may be other absences now and then, but I don't think it will be a problem. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to play out.

Just so long as the game doesn't grind to a halt when one player has to leave for a few days.

I am sure GL will keep us ticking over nicely. As GM, he can come up with excuses for absenteeism
