2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted May 12, 2012
I mainly seem to drink coffee these days... Probably too much... how much coffee is too much, would, say, for example, nearly half a kilogram of coffee beans a week be a lot of coffee or just an average OK amount?

I am not that far behind you in consumption 2legs, although I only drink coffee (at home) in the morning. Once I start twitching I realise my caffeine level is sufficient.

Yes, root beer is a soft drink. I can't remember what it tastes like, only know that I didn't like it.

I often only tend to drink coffee in the morning too, the first pot is gone within about forty minutes or so... then useually another, late morning, heading towards midday...

The root beer you get in most stores is carbonated water with flavoring, i.e., crap. This root beer I am offering is brewed with honey and sarsaparilla root; it holds a head like any good draught beer. It is made by the Henry Weinhardt brewery in Seattle. *looks haughty for a moment, then sets to work creating root beer floats in tall glasses*
I even have special spoons -- a long metal straw serves as the handle.

That sounds just the sort of refreshing drink I could do with lil. *looks appreciatively at the preparation*

You still get proper Sasparilla and proper Dandelion & Burdock around here. Served through a beer engine, with a head of foam. D&B's nice, not keen on sasparilla though.

*Sips her root beer float and browses the Internet on her tablet. Bursts out laughing at one point, nearly spitting soda across the table. Finally contains herself, tears in her eyes.*
Oh, sorry! I'd share, but I'm far too polite.
Lil, what brand of ice cream is this? It's fabulous!

mops up from Witty's giggling fit.
I was listening to the Dalai Lama on the radio today, he is such an amazing person, I thought I should share.

I just discovered psdisasters.com last week -- laughed so hard I was making choking noises. My roommate almost summoned the nurse.
Haagen-Dasz, what else?

Peeks into the Staff room. It is rather dusty. Wipes a chair with a forgotten towel, clears some magazines off the table.
Sits down.
Gets up again, and puts the kettle on. Sniffs the instant coffee jar, and starts hunting for teabags instead.
Kettle boils, and soon the welcoming scent of tea fills the room.
Waits for company.

Shuffles in through the door and heads directly to the kettle. A cup is taken out of the cupboard, a teabag dropped. The sugar jar is opened and two teaspoons of sugar is spooned into the cup using a rather tarnished teaspoon mostly stuck to the worktop. Boiling water in poured from the kettle into the cup, and the teaspoon swirls the contents until they are very, very dark brown. The teabag is removed and dropped into the bin. Milk is removed from the fridge, sniffed for freshness and poured into the cup anyway. A final stir before the cup is raised to the lips, the steamy aroma inhaled through the nose, and the first sip is taken.
Ahhh, that's better. 'allo again.

Grins at Pastey.
- You have no idea, man! On one hand, I have half an assignment, which is pretty boring. On the other hand, there's this company I'm trying to help out with, and I never thought it could be so complicated. It more than makes up for the time I don't spend on work.
- On the third hand, (borrows one of Pastey's) From next week, I'll have two half assignments, in separate towns. Which will be interesting. And rumours have it that there's yet another half assignment coming up... (Pastey and Milla now wave all available hands around, realise it looks silly, and stop)
When it rains, it pours.

*hears voices - pushes open the staffroom door*
Slumps in chair, absent mindedly drinks Pastey's tea. I think I managed not to break the Front page just now, but it was a close call!
hands tea back to Pastey and makes a fresh cup.

I wish I had a real staff room to escape to in my RL employment. Can't even go out back for a breath of fresh air 'cause that's where the smokers congregate.
