There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

After having fallen asleep on the sofa at around 8.30pm, and now it's 12.30am, I find myself having to do a sort of balancing act of how long to stay up for (because I know I'm not going to be going back to sleep any time soon following what is usually around two-thirds of my average night's sleep), and when to go to bed (because I have to be up around 6.30am to go to work in the morning).

Oh bother.

Just as well really because there are storms headed this way which will probably reach us around 2am and would have kept me awake with thunder and lightning for an hour or so. Which I suppose pretty much determines when I'll be going to bed tonight really.

I looked for Phartiphukborlz, but that's a proper name and wouldn't be appropriate anyway.

It's my Saturday night, so naturally I've been drinking heavily. What a curious turn of phrase that is, by the way. The bar where I do my drinking is right across the street, or over the road as I used to call it. Bearing in mind that the road in question is a relatively major thoroughfare, I'm not quite sure how I made it home in one piece.

Maybe I didn't smiley - yikes

No, I'm pretty sure I did. Everything seems to be accounted for smiley - biggrin But I know I'm seeing double, so if there's something I'm meant to have two of, and I'm seeing two of, I might only have one of smiley - yikes

I may roll my eyes 'round 'n 'round in opposite directions, especially if I'm watching a floor show like Elvira's Las Vegas revue.

I'm watching the BBC's tribute to Spike Milligan on his 80th birthday (April 6th 1998). Ten minutes in and Terry Wogan has introduced Spike, Eric Sykes and Johnny Speight. Wogan's the only one still alive.

What a depressing thought.

Apparently it's now impossible for me to spend an evening in without falling asleep on the sofa for anything from two to four hours.

I don't mind my eyebrows getting bushy as I get older... I just wish they'd go in the same direction instead of one going up and the other going down.

I may have made this observation before.

When I notice the few long, dark, coppery red hairs in my eyebrows heading North and South over alternate eyes I think of Freddie Jones as Thugir Hawat.

I looked at that post three times and still didn't notice that I misspelled "ThuFir" Hawat. smiley - doh damn you Tituvillus!

So you did. Freddie Jones was also a commendable Earl (of Earl's Court) in the BBC production of Neverwhere. Still alive, and still working smiley - biggrin

If anyone asks me today "Have you called your mother?" I'm going to eschew my usual reply of "No, do you have a Ouija board handy?" for "No, I'm an atheist and I don't believe in the afterlife". Next year I may use "No, do you know the name of a good spiritualist?".

Variety is the spice of life smiley - ok
