77°F and 90% humidity at 7am It's been that way since about 3.30am as a matter of fact.

Scorchio no. nine for the year happened on Saturday. This time last year we were pushing 40. Only 94°F yesterday.

Lots of scorchio heading into the weekend, but it's the end of July/turning into August and that's what's supposed to happen around this time of the year. I can deal with that. It's when we get stupidity like last summer that I get... out of sorts

But there's no global warming. It's kind of ironic too that Texas, usually hotter than most other places at this time of the year, had its stupidly hot and stupidly dry summer last year, and this year we're actually doing pretty well.

We were supposed to hit high 90s today, but there was a front coming through when I was out earlier and I don't think it was even 80. That was around 10:30.

Well it's already been revised up from 89 to 92 on Sunday, but that's still better than the 104 that's predicted for tomorrow, and I can't wait to step out of the door on Sunday and Monday morning and find that it's brisk and pleasant and not already like a sauna at 8.30am

The weather people are saying it too so it must be true

Even though 34 days of scorchio (plus one more today) sounds pretty nice compared to last year's 90, it's still way above the average of 12.

But there's no global warming.

More rain

On Friday we got 1.2" over the course of about 19 hours, and we're getting another good soaking today - about half an inch an hour I'd say, and about another three or four hours of the same to come. That shouldn't cause any flooding but it's going to be highly beneficial. And the best thing is the temperatures: A high of 72 on Friday (about 20° below normal), 81 yesterday, and so far today (as of 10.51) we haven't even made it to 70

Ended up with 2.37" of rain for the day, and there might be another few hundredths of an inch still to come

And a maximum of 69°
