Don't panic
Is mise Duncan Posted Nov 27, 2000
Not a bad weekend, all things considered.
It didn't rain too much so we went for a little walk around the farms, although there was far too much ground water to actually leave the tarmac road.
I was force fed in much the same way as a foie gras. These people make Mrs Doyle (the tea lady from Fr. Ted) look downright timid...if you say you don't want a cup of tea, the reply will be "sure, take one just to hold in your hand". but the cooking was so good that I couldn't bring myself to stop.
Still yet to get a in the local pub mind, but it will happen...

No - I can't get out of the house....to busy being fed tea and scones.
I'm going to have to go to a place that is sufficiently far away from Sligo that I can't stay at the SO's parental house yet is still definitely west country - like Galway maybe

*collapses in childish innuendo fit of giggles*
Now come on, you'll be telling me next that there's a "Jack London" or a "David Essex" or a "Dion Dublin" or a "Calivin Kelin New York"...madness.
Bunking off
Sus!e Posted Nov 27, 2000
Well! Sounds good to me.
Now I know what bunking off means. I thought it had something to do with getting rid of your bunk bed.
Now I realize it is similar to 'goofing off' or more accurately, 'seducing Fido.'

I don't know why "bunking off" should mean not doing your work, except perhaps that iuf you were to pretend to be sick in the navy you might be confined to your bunk?
As for where the phrase "seducing Fido" comes from...I'm clueless..please clarify.

Well I couldn't find it. Anyhow, I thought you were supposed to be too busy to be surfing ... don't tell me, your database connection is slow so you have lots of [alt+tab] time too
[ALT+TAB]
Is mise Duncan Posted Nov 28, 2000
[alt+tab] is the key combination in Windows which switches from one open application to the next.
This allows you to kick off one long running job (like reindexing a table in SQL, or saving a file in word ) and switch to, say, internet explorer while it does that in the background.
It slows the processing down slightly, but prevents you expiring from boredom...
