thank goodness
Posted Jul 27, 2000
I feel like I've been waiting forever for that "New This Week" tag to disappear.
Come to think of it, a week's not that long, is it?
I think I've been sitting in front of this screen for too long.
"Ooh! It's been 15 minutes! I wonder if anyone's replied yet!"

List of Researchers
Posted Jul 25, 2000
Hey y'all. I just added a list of researchers I have a certain respect for on my page. If you're interested in apearing on the list (or if you're on the list and want to be removed) just reply on this thread, start a conversation. We'll chat.
Or...you can yell and scream at me for giving you miniscule negative publicity on this oft unvisited site.
But hey--it's worth a shot, no?
Triv.

Food Delivery Ranges
Posted Jul 25, 2000
Here's another imponderable for you all...
Chinese restaurants are notorious (at least, in NYC) for being able to deliver anywhere. You call 'em up and tell 'em you're sitting on a bench in Washington Square Park and a guy on a bike will show up with your food in under 30 minutes. I actually had a guy bring me moo goo gai pan and eggrolls in the 72nd street subway station (I reembursed him for the cost of the token.) But that is New York and, unfortunately, I don't live there. YET. (crosses fingers)
My question is: in an area such as the large suburban town in which I live, what's the approximate delivery range? How far will a guy in a beat up toyota go to give you food? When does it become not worth it?

Stress relief balls
Posted Jul 23, 2000
Ok, you all know about those little balls that you squeeze to relieve tension and whatnot (instead of clocking some poor fool who desperately deserves it) but does anyone know what's inside one? I'm sure there are variations on the theme--some liquid, some particle, some gaseous--but I haven't a clue as to what they're comprised of and the one I have is too near and dear to my heart to undergo autopsy.
