Writing an English report
Posted Sep 2, 2000
I'm sitting at the computer, supposedly creating a wonderful English essay on GM foods. However, I really can't be bothered. Because I am occasionally a stereotypical teenager (not that often, actually), I have left this report until two days before it has to be handed in, even though I had the entire summer in which to do it. I'm using the internet on the pretext that I'm **searching for more information**, but H2G2 drew me away...
So if anyone can give me any immediate help on this report, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do!

P.P.S. Please tell me what you think of the exploding butterflies and fish ~*~A~*~
P.P.P.S. Contact me at [email protected] if you have Worms Armageddon, as I want to play a network game, and I only have the CD for a month ~*~A~*~

Lake Ullswater, Cumbria
Posted Aug 12, 2000
I went down to the Lake District with my friend (U142065) yesterday, and had a somewhat strange time. We first stopped in a village called Wreay (prounounced Ree-ah), with a church that seemed to be filled with carved stone pineapples (they were later discovered to be pine-cones).
We then bought a stone dragon, actually my friend's dad did. We heaved it into the boot, and hoped that the car (pretty ancient) would be able to struggle back up to Scotland in it.
We also saw the Aira Falls - a waterfall that's pretty high, but not record-breakingly so. There's a (true) story that a girl threw herself off the rocks at the top of the waterfall because she heard her true love had been killed in a war. This wasn't true, and when he came back he died of a broken heart because she'd killed herself. It is rumoured that his ghost still haunts the waterfall...

Wales

Wahey! I'm going to South Wales tomorrow, so I won't be able to respond to all the annoying people (no, I don't mean you) for two whole weeks.
Hopefully the weather's going to be OK, but with it being Wales, I'm not so sure...
The sea's usually fine. Plenty of

It's the summer holidays, so why is it raining? We haven't had a day all week that's been sunny all day. There's always been rain and clouds.
In the words of the immortal Travis, "Why does it always rain on me?"
And the answer, "Because you live in Scotland!"
Could some meteorologist please tell me when we're going to see the sun?

Camping close to home
Posted Jul 5, 2000
Last night my little sister and her friend decided to camp out in the back garden, and they needed someone responsible with them, so guess who got dragged out too? Yes, that's right, me. I don't mind sleeping in the tent, but an entire night of them was a bit too much for anyone to handle...
They said "We're going to do an all-nighter!" which basically means they're never going to go to sleep. Oh joy.
I really shouldn't complain any more, because despite of these foreboding thoughts, they actually got to sleep at quite a reasonable time ~ half past midnight, although my sister's friend kept insisting on opening the tent door to "get some fresh air", but really just letting clouds of midgies swarm into the tent. Ugh.
