The Guide
I heard about the Guide on television recently, and was struck by simplicity and brilliance of Douglas Adams' idea. Clearly the internet is the ideal way to implement the Hitch Hilker's Guide to the Galaxy in real life. However, wandering through the pages it strikes me that it is being used more as a discussion group, and that it's potential is not being fully realised.
I believe that as the internet becomes more accessible through mobile devices, and as these mobile devices come to have GPS capabilities, the Guide will slowly evolve, until it becomes, over time, the earth-based version of the tool that Douglas Adams originally wrote about.
However, my greatest failing is my impatience, and I don't want to wait for there GPS-enabled internet-ready mobile devices. I am therefore doing my best to fill the Guide all of the useful information that I can think of about the city I live in - London. I hope that some people will find this information useful. If not, then at the very least they will know where to get a good coffee.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
