Brian Damage: The one and, indeed, only
Soggy lycra. Not a pleasant feeling. Brian's feet and ankles clad in an all-in-one Spandex suit displaced the delicate beads of morning dew clinging to each blade of grass as he walked across them. An explicative broke the silence in this derelict field. Brian's contemplation was disturbed while he tried to shake off the water that was clinging to his trousers. He swore again and tried to ignore the uncomfortable feeling. His cloak dragged somberly along the wet grass and as it attained moisture it hindered his progress.
Eventually, atop a grass knoll in the middle of nowhere, Brian reached his destination. He sat beneath the giant Oak there and contemplated. An hour, maybe two, passed. Then, slowly but decisively, Brian stood up and removed his scarlet cape from around his neck and set it down where he had been sitting. With a sudden burst of strength he ripped off his lycra suit and tossed it away. He is now clad only in some shorts.
A noose hung just above his head. Effortlessly, and with a last use of his supervillain powers, Brian levitated until his head fitted through the gap. He closed his eyes. He muttered some prayers under his breath. Looking up at the sky he admired the beauty of the tree and the clouds that glided past above him. He sighed.
He managed a faint, "Goodbye" and then relaxed.
Brian's head lolled onto one side and his body lay limp and lifeless swaying lightly in the breeze. If you had looked carefully you would have seen a spirit rising from the dead body and into the heavens. Maybe there was some good in him after all. Perhaps he'll return some day to reminisce with his old friends. Until then, Brian Damage is no more.
