Is it my fault if I'm stunning?
I've completed my 6 mile walk but I wore sandals and now I've got blisters .

3 minutes running, 2 walking, 6 times. Not easy but ok. Tuesday's is going to be tough - 3 running, 1 walking, 8 times. I'm not looking forward to that.

Yay! The Ant can run for four minutes easily!!
4 mins running, 3 walking, times 5 plus 2 minutes running to get home quicker (because it is cold out there, dears) and a spectacular sprint finish.

Well done, Amy!
I don't know whether to say you inspired me or shamed me into it, but I ordered a new walking belt for my treadmill yesterday. And I've done 2 miles walking briskly each morning this week, tweaking the speed up a little each day.
So watch out, I'm right behind you!

Oh yes, the 13th, I think, we may be on hols then.
It must have been something else on 23rd, is there some kind of walk on that date? Or perhaps it was a social thing at the gym.

a pretty funky watch
mine is 55, when I was in hospital they asked if I did allot of exercise because it was so low, I used to do 30 miles a day cycling, apparently that counts.

Taking tablets like beta blockers can push your heart rate down into the forties. Any lower than that and you're probably in trouble. A will speak soon, no doubt.
I ran most of the way to the gym and most of the way back today because walking was too slow . I did 20 minutes on the rowing machine in one go and I aim to do 30 minutes before I do the run, just to check my stamina. I expect the final run to take me just under 30 minutes but I don't get to run the whole distance during training at any stage. They save that for race day. Clever psychology .
I'm still working through my list of suspected allergens. Somewhat surprisingly, I find that I react badly to aubergines, although I'd never noticed that before. I suspect it might be part of a problem with all members of the nightshade family but I haven't got as far as tomatoes and potatoes on my list yet.

4 mins running, 2 walking, times 6, sprint finish.
Only three and a half weeks left to the race so I'm going to have to step up the training. Mondays run will be (6 + 2) x 5

That's really impressive, Amy. You're putting me to shame. I've missed two weeks of gym visits because of a throat virus that made me feel lousy, but it sounds like it takes more than illness to stop an . Well done!

Well, Amy, I have tried to follow your fine example. I returned to the gym today and actually did some real running on the running machines. I did two three-minute s, each immediately followed by a further seven minutes' brisk stride; I also did 10 minutes each on the cycling and cross-trainer machines and five minutes' rowing. I feel great now, but I was walking a bit stiffly on the way home. I think the running disturbed some muscles at the tops of my thighs that hadn't been called into such vigorous action in years.

I did it . And I had plenty to spare at the end of each 6 minute run. In fact I sprinted second half of the last 6 minutes. That was 40 minutes in total and a long, long way - I had to extend my chosen course twice to fit it all in. I think it was further than three miles - according to my calculations it must be over four miles.
If an ant walks at 3mph for 10 minutes and runs at 6mph for 27 minutes and at 9mph for 3 minutes, how many miles does the ant travel in total?

3.65 Miles.
(3/60)*10+(6/60)*27+(9/60)*3 = 3.65
