Perhaps you can give her the name of Groves' book and suggest she read it. smiley - evilgrin

Or I could suggest this one:

The author is being referred to a couple of times in Groves' book, and he's Swedish, so might be easier for her to check him up, should she wish to.

OK, asked Z about body temperature being below the average, and the only alternative seemed to be a faulty thermometer...

On another note, I've noticed an odd effect on my complexion after adding more satured fat to my diet - my facial skin texture has improved!

More specifically, it's about those blackheads on your nose. Much to my surprise, they've grown smaller and also paler in colour. Odd - I wonder why?

I was quite convinced my complexion would get more fat, but that doesn't seem to be happening, for some reason.

Good stuff!

Maybe because the skin doesn't have to work so hard to moisturise itself?

I was in Stockholm, yesterday and today, and passed the hotel on södermalm where we stayed when Henriette visited. I thought of you, and how annoying it was that there was no time to meet.

I gained a kilo or two, lately, but I can't blame it on the fat really, I just eat more...

I was thinking along those lines myself, that when the body gets enough fat through food, it doesn't have to try to keep things soft and smooth...

You were in Stockholm? Ah well, that's the way life is at times...

More about the effects of saturated fat upon my skin - and my hair.

I used to have a fat/normal/dry complexion - now I just have a normal/dry one, and the dry part is because of w*rk.

Same thing with my hair - it just doesn't seem to get greasy any more, just dry every now and then.

So it seems (to me) that as long as your body is supplied with enough fat, it will not try to 'overcompensate' the way it will when you're on a diet low on fat.

Now, if only I could find my motivation (mislaid it some time before Christmas, has anyone seen it?) I'd start JUDDDing again...

Johnson Up Day Down Day Diet - basically, you fast every other day and eat practically as much as you want on the other days. Or at least it feels that way for me...

My brother swore by something similar. He would go on a poverty diet most days, and really pig out some days. Skinny as a rake those days.

I tried summing up the calories for a down day and an up day and divided it by two to get the average per day - and it was slightly less than the Weight Watchers' recommendation!

But by only fasting one day, and then eating a lot next day, your body will never go into 'starvation' mode but will keep burning fat.

And like Hypatia said, you just diet for one day at the time, so even if you get hungry on a down day, you know you can eat a lot the next day. If you want chocolate on a down day, you can think 'I can have it tommorrow'.

Ti, adding fat back into my diet has reduced my cravings for starches and sugars. And I stay full longer. I've also noticed my skin is smoother. I'm convinced we've been sold a bill of goods about the dangers of saturated fat.

Have you seen Witty's results with JUDDDD? She has lost 3 stone. smiley - ok It really does work.
